It was a beautiful hotel. The pictures online provided an accurate portrayal of the chateau. The staff were very helpful. We had a lovely dinner there and an amazing breakfast.

The hotel is wonderful and we enjoyed our stay here very much! The staff are extremely welcoming and the food is as very very good! I would definitely recommend this place to everyone!

Staying in a former castle! Does not get much better than that. A moat, complete with swans and ducks. Patios to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Nice selection of beer. And a fully renovated place, so the rooms are great! Staff is also very nice and helpful. And on top of all that, there is a great garden area which is well worth the wander, and a short walk to the town of "Steyl" which is a monastery town, with a great history! Try to visit the "Ketelhuis" museum and the Steyl brewery which has a fantastic selection and great passion for craft beer.

The noise of a low frequency of an outside ac was terrible. Couldnot sleep anymore of the continous noise going up and down Our comments at the reception were not believed(r301) Donot understand why we had to pay €2,90 pppd for service charge!

It's a nice location, and friendly staff, but a bit old-fashioned facility. And there was a dog bargging in the midnight...should not be allowed to take pets in the hotel I think...

Thank you Lyr, pets are indeed allowed in our hotel. Off course we expect our guests to ensure that other guests are not bothered by their pets. In case of a barking dog a call to our front office can solve this very quickly.

Lovely hotel. Waiting staff were not that friendly and when we asked for ice for our drinks it took nearly ten minutes to arrive!

A good place for a stopover
Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Our room was a good size, the bed was comfy with good quality bed-linen. Our meal in the restaurant was exceptionally good, creative and delicious modern cuisine, beautifully presented. The immediate surroundings are calm and green, even tho it's not far from the motorway.

great dinner, good service, could be cleaner
Enjoyed stay with good service, excellent dinner in hotel restaurant and a good breakfast in morning. Rooms are slightly dated but with big comfortable beds. Minibars don't appear to be working (perhaps just our room) but you could order room service and the bar is attractive so no probs there. Parking was also very good - although outside only. The only real negative was some cleanliness - there was a thick layer of dust on some of the shelves and the bathroom floor could have been cleaner. The hotel itself sits outside of town nut is walkable to Tegelen which is a small town with some bars and restaurants.

Wonderful
Hotel is lovely with pool, sauna, steam room & gym. We don’t eat at the hotel as quite expensive. Staff very welcoming although service for drinks can be a bit slow but overall a great stay.

Beautiful hotel approached via a tree-lined avenue and set in its own secure grounds. The hotel has a sympathetic extension added to a beautiful old Manor House, with surrounding pond like a moat. Absolutely flawless in every regard, with excellent, helpful staff.

SHORT BUT IMPRESSIVE STAY
Our stay was short but our overall impression of this hotel was excellent. Accessability into Dusseldorf, Germany, the point of our visit, was easy 30 mins. We will definitely return to this hotel for its beautiful, tranquil setting. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Our room was in the annex of the chateau, but beautifully presented and clean.

Very nice hotel but....
Very nice hotel, helpful staff but let down by attention to detail. Firstly, booked a double room, however on arrival we were informed that the type of room chosen was not available with a double bed (despite the size of the room) but we could upgrade for an extra 25 Euros per night. This was despite my booking confirming a double bed was a pre-requisite. Secondly, the cleaning staff were very lax - not replacing towels or restocking tea/coffee, etc. Thirdly, on leaving the hotel tried to charge us for breakfast for every day of our stay despite not having had any. Once again, a very nice, presentable hotel with polite, friendly, informative staff but let down by attention to detail.

Basically you stay in a castle which is really cool. Stayed here which working in Venlo so it was convenient enough, but you need a car. The hotel itself was clean, and staff was friendly. I will stay again next time I am here for work.

Hotel is well located and in a quiet area. Only complaint (minor) is the mattress was extremely soft.
