This beach looks good in just about any weather! Featured prominently in the opening of goonies, I had no idea how immense this dollop of rock was until I meandered down the beach to it. Neither photo nor video could portray its immensity and sadly, neither can mine. Cycling into the Haze One of the best beaches on the Oregon Coast. Famous rock for having been in the Goonies movie. Don't forget to check out the trendy town and its breweries & restaurants! Sleepy Monk is my favorite coffee shop to visit when in town! Full moon sliding down into Pacific Ocean @ daybreak Everyone that goes to Cannon Beach, OR shows up and shoots Haystack Rock. It may be a town requirement. And I'm ok with that, because it's damn impressive. But on my recent visit there, I went looking for a different view of it. Golden hour was upon me, and low tide was in full swing, so luckily these little bits of water were left behind, and everyone else was down closer to the rock. Had it all to myself! From the blog at http://nomadicpursuits.com/ Haystack Rock on Cannon Beach is one of Oregon’s most recognizable landmarks and is quite a popular destination to visit for obvious reasons. The scenery all the way down the Oregon coast is amazing and this stretch of beach is no exception with its picturesque sandy shoreline and rock formations. Although I had seen many photos of this rock before visiting this place it's even more impressive to see in person, this thing is huge!
As you can see, sunsets here are beautiful Who needs filters? #lifeatexpedia How do you mend a broken heart? Create something!
This is one of my favorite shots of the Oregon Coast. The wind on the waves seemed to mimic the shape of the rocks.
A rare mild day in February, seastacks, the wild Pacific and God's paint brush. A wonderfully healing and therapeutic day.

Cannon Beach is a must see when driving down the Oregon coast. Haystack Rock is particularly dramatic at Golden Hour! After going to Ecola State park a few nights in a row I finally got a clear night and this view!
Image was taken around 11 PM. it is a 9 image stack, each exposure was 23 seconds. coast of oregon, 2013 Goonies never say die!
milky rainbow!!!!
Andromeda is on the left. Cannon Beach is one of the more touristy beaches along the Oregon coast, but it's worth a trip to see the famous Haystack Rock. I would recommend starting here, then drive south on Highway 101 to see all that the Oregon coast has to offer. #troveon Blue skies for winter sunset I was surprised to see how much vegetation was growing on Haystack Rock. More than just moss or lichen, the light was just right to see all manner of greenery.
#cannonbeach #oregon #pacific #ocean Beautiful view of Cannon Beach and Haystack Rock from our room in the evening. Standing just north of Haystack rock on Cannon Beach. Gorgeous #sunsets and #familyfun abound in this adorable beach town. #weekendgetaway #goldenhour Looking out at Submarine Rock at low tide during an early morning rain. The water was so cold, but finding all the sealife was worth it. Watching the sun dip into the Pacific is always great, but when you are on a hidden beach on the Oregon coast and you get a sunset like this one? That's the best, period. It's doubly great that I had it all to myself. The tourists packed up early and missed out! I don't understand that, but I'm sure glad for it. #WinterWonders #BeachBound Seafoam candy: frothy caramelized sugar wrapped in chocolate. Incredible. Cannon Beach with it's magnificent Haystack Rock on Oregon Coast is definitely worth a roadtrip. #roadtrip Cannon Beach- a beautiful, not too crowded place to watch the sunset. The Wayfarer, a nearby restaurant had AMAZING prime rib. (Also... The Goonies ;)) Just a couple of miles north of the famous Haystack Rock in Cannon Beach...
#AquaTrove Even on a cloudy day, Cannon Beach is stunning from every angle. This view from Ecola State Park, just to the north.
#beachbound This is the view looking south from the first visitor parking area at Ecola State Park.
You can see the famous Haystack Rock at Canon Beach as well as several other seastacks on the coast.
This image was shot at 200mm so it is zoomed in a bit. Goonies never say die. #sunset Sunset, seastacks, low tide and a chance to get up close and personal with the subject. The orange circle that looks like a hole in the rocks is actually spray that got on my lens.
#goldenhour #cannonbeach #oregon #sunset #pacific #ocean A few weeks ago I was shooting some images in tide pools during low tide when out of the corner of my eye I noticed that the light began changing quickly. I looked up to witness a beautiful fog rolling on to the beach from the ocean. Bewildering how fog, which seems intrinsically delicate, wields the power to overtake and shroud everything it comes into contact with. #troveoftheday #fog #pacificnorthwest #treetrove Some places are just special to each of us, for various reasons. For me, Cannon Beach is one of those places. It's not a Worth a short sunset walk from the city center. A morning on Cannon Beach The view of the lovely Cannon Beach from the top of Ecola State Park, in the summer evening... Let's take a stroll on the beach near Haystack Rock. #aquatrove #roadtrip #oregon #middleearth ❤ #sunset Cannon beach on the Oregon coast is incredible. The nearby town is nice as well. The calm evenings at serene Cannon Beach, Oregon One of my favorite views in Oregon! Cannon Beach is a great place to catch the sunset. This was one beach that I didn't mind getting socked in at. Lots of tide pools and tons of hiking for the explorer in you. #indianbeach #Oregon Heading into Cannon Beach! #roadtrip2016 The simple allure of the Oregon Coast. One of the most majestic beaches in the US. 1.5 hours from Portland. www.bradleyhanson.com Awesome beach spot in Oregon, with Moody day at Cannon Beach.
#california #beach #roadtrip The famous Haystack Rock at Cannon Beach, Oregon. One of the more famous features of the Oregon coast, many people will also recognize it from the move Goonies. #oregon #haystack #cannonbeach #beach #haystackrock the misty shores of Canon beach where we watched a pod of 20 plus blue whales breach right off the shore... Beautiful Amazing beach surrounded by birch wood and rocky hills to climb. I thought the objects in sand were flowers until I realized they were shrimp shells. Beautiful view😍 You can hear the snapping and popping of barnacles on the rocks at Cannon Beach #beachbound One of the many sea stacks dotted along Cannon Beach. FYI this is where the movie 'The Goonies' was filmed 😊 Day 1 of our 6 month travel adventure. We drove from Washington to Oregon and stopped at this beach to storm watch for a bit. Great place to spend an afternoon beach combing, picnicking and just being lazy Amazing sunset at Cannon Beach, Or.
#green #sunset Ran into this guy snacking along the road. :) One of the most iconic sea stacks/rock formations on the West Coast. Haystack Rock on Cannon Beach! Made famous from the movie The Goonies! One of the best beaches in the world. I love this place. Even if it's terrible weather and raining, it's still one of my favorite places in the world. :) What a difference an hour makes! #haystack #rock in silhouette at #sunset.
#goldenhour #cannonbeach #oregon #seastacks A view of Cannon Beach on the Oregon coast from Ecola State Park. Haystack Rock is a 235-foot sea stack in Cannon Beach, Oregon. It is sometimes claimed locally to be the third-tallest such Another shot from Tolovana. A great subject makes you feel like a brilliant photographer, but it's all about starting with good material!
#goldenhour #cannonbeach #oregon #seastacks The best coffee and scones! I had a pineapple coconut scone that was to die for. Canon Beach
#waterlust Amazing, photogenic beach! Saddle Mountain Summit Trail. It is an easy to moderate 5 mile round trip hike with spectacular views. At the top, on a clear day, you can see from Mt Hood to Astoria and down the coast to Manzanita. Visited one of Oregon's beautiful beaches - Cannon Beach. The view is spectacular. The beach is nice too. Lucked out with the weather on the Oregon coast. Another view from Ecola State Park on the Oregon coast. Haystack Rock is one of my favorite place to visit on the Oregon coast. Cannon Beach is a little bit over an hour drive from Portland. The view is just breath taking! Absolutely gorgeous! Close to local boutiques and restaurants. Bring a blanket if you planning on hanging out on the beach, even with the sun it can get a bit chilly. This is a photo of photographers taking a photo of the sun setting on Cannon Beach in Oregon.#Beach This is a really cool town on the coast. When the tide is really low you can walk out and see colorful starfish and sea anemones - so pretty! Beautiful view at Cannon Beach Huge rock in the ocean off the Oregon coast. Haystack Rock
Fantastic beach, with native wildlife (tide pools, birds, etc). Great place for a bonfire! Another shot of Haystack Rock

#Oregon #sunset #amazing #unique #relaxplace #grateful #godisgood One of my favourite places to visit in the summer! 🇺🇸 Haystack Rocks at Cannon Beach. A beautiful coast with more of a California beach feel. Huge sand beach leading up to the water, at least two sand volleyball nets set up, TONS of people. Some checking out the tide pools closer to the rocks others were skin boarding, riding sand bikes or other typical beach entertainment. #beach #ocean #oregon #family #tidepool #views #oregonsevenwonders #kidsfun #water #sunmer #explore #adventure #wonderlust #pnw
