We had an amazing time staying here. All of the staff were amazing. They were always friendly and helpful. Nature is all around and the beach (Play Panama) is gorgeous. The most amazing sunsets I’ve seen. My don was excited to see iguanas, a variety of birds, and even a couple monkeys in the trees that surround the property. The beach is not crowded but is very nice with small waves and nice sand, and trees for shade. They have a smaller number of rooms, but a large property with two pools and multiple bar and dining options. This means you never feel crowded or have to search for a chair by the pool. I had a really amazing sea bass at the nicer restaurant one night. The bartender at the pool was very friendly and skilled as well. The resort has a laid-back and relaxed feel, but they are great with kids. One of our servers at the buffet restaurant taught my son a little Spanish at every meal. We had a basic room without a view, but it was nice and clean with A/C. The property has many rooms facing the beach, and we’ll probably get one of those if we return. We had a great time and would recommend CC Beachfront Papagayo to friends without any hesitation.

The staff is completely wonderful and this hotel is trying to be a 4 star, but it needs maintenance. However the food was very good and lots of fun items for children like sno cones, ice cream and candy.

I had so many problems with Expedia and the hotel booking our stay. I even called the hotel to speak to management to confirm our family was all set so when we arrived there wouldn't be any issues with the rooms. Of course we arrive and they say I owe another $7,000 even though I had all the receipts and confirmations from Expedia and from the manager. I had booked 4 rooms as there was 7 of us. Overall the rooms were clean, the beach is open to the public so it was very busy, it was not easy to get a taxi and when you did it was very expensive, the all inclusive was ok only 2 restaurants and one you had to have reservations for. The food all starts to taste the same after 6 days of it. Our family had 4 rooms and we were not all in the same building (they are like condos) so when traveling with kids it was difficult and felt uneasy about having them in another building. The door unlock with a code not a key or wrist band, the exit and entrance to the beach opens with a code. Try remembering all the codes on vacation with 4 rooms and children in rooms. There is an amazing restaurant called the Peninsula about 1 minute up a hill from this hotel and has the most amazing food and views of the sunset. A must see however no one at the hotel could assist in making us a reservation or even knew about this place. The pools were dirty and the grounds were lacking. For as much as we paid I would not recommend this hotel. It was about an 1 1/2 hours from Taramindo.

The staff was friendly. Overall we had a great time. Only suggestions. They need to upgrade few things in the rooms and pool area. Maybe add another indoor restaurant and control the iguanas around the dinning area as they attacked some kids and adults for food.

Most of the time it was peaceful. The beach was just beyond the gate. Staff bring out lounge chairs for you. Kayaking is free. Friendly staff. Clean rooms, clean swimming pools. Great AC in rooms. Food was good. Property needs updating in terms of repaving by the pool.

Amazing resort. Do not listen to the negative reviews. Book this place, it’s special and you won’t leave disappointed. It’s a beautiful, tranquil resort with plenty of space for everyone, great rooms, a lowkey beach, and the food was great for an all inclusive. Most importantly, the best hotel staff I’ve ever been around. They were the difference makers. I would recommend the CC to anyone I know and we’ll try to make it again someday. Thank you!

Location of property was good, with direct beach access, the service was great all of the staff were very helpful. The big downside of this hotel was the noise, the rooms are not soundproof you can hear everything in neighbouring rooms, music from the pools and the bar.

We had a wonderful experience. The room was spotless and spacious. The food was wonderful and the chef made sure we had vegetarian options. The pool was lovely, warm and clean. Very quiet. The beach is natural with lots of trees lining the shore. We enjoyed the sea kayaks! The staff were kind and professional.

The staff was extremely nice, but not accommodating. I asked for my VIP upgrade & they told us that they didn’t have a room available for the first night, but would the following night. Never upgraded us as promised. Our room was in the single level buildings (original hotel) SO OLD & run down. Dimly lit rooms. Toilet & shower were atrocious in terms of dilapidated. The place was however, very clean. The property around the pools needed some upgrading, but the pools were beautiful & well-kept. The food at the buffet was NOTHING like what was pictured online. It was very mediocre & tasted as such. Overall, not as advertised. The “sports bar” was also very old & rundown - looked like a shack. My husband and I reserved this hotel for 7 nights and checked out after two. It took us that long to find another resort. This hotel was in no way boutique other than the fact that it was a smaller property. Don’t waste your time.

We stayed at an ocean view room right by the pool which was really convenient and nice. Loved both chlorine and salt water pools, each with a pool bar, large and relaxing. Easy access to the beach and free kayak/paddle board rental to enjoy, and their buffet food was great too. Staffs are friendly and accommodating. Too bad the wall between the rooms are super thin so you can easily hear your neighbors. Pools would be better if leaves are cleaned more often.

This hotel is dated. Don’t be fooled by the “it was amazing reviews” if you are an easy going grandparent this place is for you and you will love it here. The food started off really strong but dwindled to just okay towards the end of our stay. I will say all the staff were helpful but the evening crew far exceeds the breakfast crew. The walls are paper thin, we could hear the conversations from the rooms next to us. At its prime this may have been a fantastic hotel. The front desk staff is super helpful. There are no phones because everything is done over WhatsApp. I like this because it makes the language barrier more manageable. Overall, if you are on the older end you will love it, but my younger crowd please go to a different hotel, you don’t need an all inclusive in Costa Rica—I learned this the hard way this trip.

A wonderful, intimate and casual resort. The food was excellent, and the staff was warm and gracious. Being a boutique resort, everything is close. Only a few steps to the pool, beach, and dining room. The property needs some maintenance in various places, but the room was very clean and the beds comfortable.

Very quiet boutique type resort with only 50 rooms. Beautiful grounds with massive trees for shade. Wonderful beach for getting in your 10,000 steps. This was our second visit and we will be back next year!

My husband and I booked a nine day stay via Expedia at this boutique resort and paid for a partial oceam view 2 bed suite. The noise from the nearby sports bar was so loud, we could not sleep - even with first class ear plugs. In addition, the walls between units are so thin, we could clearly hear our neighbors conversations and even their snoring! Two nights of no sleep resulted in my becoming ill, so we had to change rooms. We asked for and were granted rooms as far from the sports bar as possible - the cheapest rooms at the resort with a single double bed. Finally, we could sleep. Unfortunately, the resort will not refund us the difference in price - almost $100 USD per night! This is unacceptable to us given the noise levels of the "upgraded" room almost ruined our trip and resulted in illness.Despite the noise levels, the staff are exceptional. They are friendly, hard working and try their best to make their guests happy.The food is good for a buffet style. Generally fresh, good variety and plentiful. Our favourite is the per cup made fresh Costa Rican drip coffee. A great way to start the day. The resort is aging, so some of the facilities and services are dated, can work intermittently, but are adequte. On a number of occasions the power went out to the resort and the water to our room stopped flowing. In all cases, however, these services were restored in a short time. This is definitely not a first class resort, but ok if satisfied with the basics.

The staff was hard working and pretty good all around. The disappointment was from Expedia saying $160 resort credit per person would be given. I had it printed out at check in thinking we sould get a couples massage and it was a hard no at the desk. I guess Expedia needs to pay as the hotel was not going to honor that one ...

We stayed here with our 2 kids and we loved it. We didn't have to walk far to get to the pool or beach. Restaurant had great food, and the staff were super friendly. Would definitely stay again if looking for a relaxing low key vacation.

Our family of 4 stayed for a week at CC Beach Hotel, and we would go back! The grounds and rooms were beautiful and extremely well maintained. The proximity of rooms to the pools, dining areas and beach was perfect; short walks to anything you could want on the property. The staff was amazing. Everyone working there went out of their way to help out in any way they could. There was always someone around to answer questions or get you anything you might need. We ate most of our meals at the buffet which was awesome. A few times, we ordered fries and chicken tenders, burgers or pizza during hours that the buffet wasn’t open, and those were all delicious also. We didn’t stay up too late, but getting a drink at one of the bars was always easy, and the bartenders could make just about anything you’d want. Shout out to bartenders Jordan and Dennis for taking care of us! We booked one all day tour before we arrived, as well as a surf lesson in Tamarindo, an hour away. The tour included transportation but the surf lesson didn’t. Transportation to and from Tamarindo was expensive and I regretted not arranging transportation ahead of time. We also booked a Jet Ski tour with Dennis / Water and Land Activities right outside of the hotel on the beach. He offers a wide variety of options that originate right there on the beach, so next time we’d probably book more activities through him. CC Beach Front Hotel made our vacation so special and extraordinary!

This resort is fabulous! The staff are professional, friendly and define excellent service. The food was well prepared, beautifully presented and delicious. The rooms are well appointed, comfortable and clean! We highly recommend a stay at CC Papaguyo for a relaxing holiday.
