Nice stay, no problems

Posted Aug 7, 2016
Parking was a little difficult, but the room was very clean and comfortable: mini-fridge, tv, microwave, and coffee. The room had no odours or stains. No problems at all and enjoyed the stay.

Needs Molotov Cocktail renewal

Posted Aug 7, 2016
Pros: Nothing.
Cons: See above.
Super 8 Motels can be very nice or very bad. There is no uniformity between the various locations. The North Platte motel was in terrible disrepair. They have not figured out what many up-scale competitors have discovered - non-smoking policies for the entire facility. I made my reservation well ahead of time, but I arrived late after a long drive. The only rooms left were smoking (primarily because no one wants them!) Thus, I had to sleep in a room that needed fumigating! Additionally the room was in terrible disrepair with poorly done repairs. The only saving grace was the reasonably new carpet in the room. (One can only imagine what the former carpet must have looked like!) The lobby areas and breakfast areas were lacking in air-conditioning in August and were cluttered, crowded, and unappetizing. Due to its location next to I-80, they appeared to be nearly at full capacity and apparently they believe that they can get away with this level of poor maintenance due to heavy traffic.

It is hard to believe, but there are still folks who do want smoking rooms. We have a very limited amount of smoking rooms at our hotel for those guests. We do have three air conditioners in our lobby area and they are operating at all times. It is clear that you were unhappy with your room and I apologize for that. However, I don't think a Molotov Cocktail is in order. GM Jennifer

Reserve only if you are a Smoker

Posted Aug 2, 2016
Specifically reserved a non- smoking room and did not get the one. Staff was ambivalent the lack of availability. Expedia absolve themselves by stating this is something to work with the hotel staff. A Catch 22 situation.

I'm sorry there was confusion with your reservation! Unfortunately, by the time you checked in, there might not have been any non smoking room available to move your reservation to. I do hope you will give us another chance! GM Jennifer

Super nothing

Posted Jul 20, 2016
Pros: nothing
Cons: room cleanliness, parking area cleanliness, staff social skills
Location: didn't, slept and drove off
Room smelled of cat urine, man at desk acted as if he could careless about being there when we checked in, claimed unable to process AARP discount, yet the other hotels we stayed in on the same trip happy to apply the discount

I am very sorry that you had a negative experience at our hotel! There is no reason that the clerk on duty would be unable to process the AARP discount. I will certainly visit with our staff and make sure they understand that procedure. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. We always want to hear from our guests, your feedback is very important to us. Please give us another chance to do a much better job. GM Jennifer

Every bit as good as more expensive hotels

Posted Jul 17, 2016
We had spent three nights in a five star hotel in Chicago just two days previous to staying in this motel. This motel room's amenities were every bit as good, and in some cases even better, than the hotel in Chicago for which we paid four times the price for a room. The Super 8 room was even BIGGER than the Chicago hotel room! In fact, I gave that five star hotel a three star rating because it was noisy, uncomfortable and overly crowded. Super 8 in North Platte has found a recurring customer in me.

Our housekeeping staff does a wonderful job keeping our guest rooms nice and clean. Thank you for recognizing their efforts! The property next door to us (owned by someone else) is undergoing renovation and it does look a little less than desirable. We are in a safe area, however. Thank you for your business! GM Jennifer

Room smelled bad

Posted Jun 20, 2016
I am a non smoker, but have a small dog. They put me in a smoker room that was old and smelled bad. I felt dirty the whole time I was there. For the price, I would have expected more.

I'm sorry you were unhappy with your room. It is possible that the only room type we had left was a smoking room. We do have non-smoking rooms that we permit pets to be in. Those might have already been reserved. We appreciate your business and hope that you will give us another chance to provide a great lodging experience. GM Jennifer

Crash Pad

Posted May 18, 2016 on Hotels
Traveling home from a family event and needed a place to crash. The price was right, the facilities were adequate, and I got a good nights sleep. Even through I suspected a lot of noise as people began getting up, I heard nothing and slept a full 8 hours. The breakfast bar was better than I'd seen at similarly priced motels. I'd recommend this facility for single travelers, maybe couples, but probably doesn't accommodate children.
