I loved this hotel! The room was very pretty and clean and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast could have been a bit more versatile, but overall really happy.
Everything about the stay was perfect. The room was clean, tidy, modern and spacious and the bed was very comfy and spacious.
There are three public carparks within 3 minutes of the hotel and i paid £5 for overnight parking at Somerset Terrace until 8am the next day.
The only niggle was that the shower took nearly 10 minutes to warm up but that was at 7pm on the third floor. Once it was warm it was a brilliant shower!
Always nice to stay here! The girls that run it are always lovely and make sure your stay is as nice as possible. Have stayed here many times now and will continue doing so!

Friendly and efficient staff, room was clean and well presented, perfect weekend
Highly recommend Dickens Bar to anyone
Great location - central to all activities. The breakfast was lovely and there was a good choice of food. Staff in the breakfast room were efficient and friendly.
Room was a good size and we had a good view of the sea.
Value for money. Situated opposite grand hotel. We could just about see sea from our room. Standard breakfast. Usual bedroom and bathroom. Clean but older furniture.

Seagull problem!
The hotel was fine but we didn’t get any sleep due to constant noise from the seagulls and also street noise. There is obviously a big problem with the gulls in this area of the town. Not much the hotels can do about this, apart from expensive glazing.
Had a lovely stay for 2 nights. Everything was lovely clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good. Only downfall was they refused my request for fried bread to compensate for me not liking sausages or hash browns😒
Small room very clean. Breakfast included edible but wouldn't want to go out of way to get. Had a few beers and Slept well till early hrs when got a bit noisy could hear traffic and road sweeper going past from about 06:30. Dining room on 1st floor what looked an old function room all sepeate from bar. Room information states parking disc available but too late once in room didn't see anything about it when booking. Corridors and room door look poor but once in room fine. Water pipes and bathroom fan a little noisy. Nice TV. Overall fine not outstanding, if had to would book again but not for a stay of more than 2 nights and would probably eat breakfast elseware. Priced at very top end of I would pay for this accommodation had better for less. Guest house class accommodation, its not really a hotel, bar not really part of it.
Dissappointed to find out the place did not serve meals also parking availability was atrocious none available at the place itself only available by way of purchasing a parking permit and then trying to find a park somewhere else which was not easy.
This was 2nd visit. Had fabulous room, spotlessly clean. Problem with shower was quickly resolved. All staff were friendly, looked after us well. Many thanks. Hope to return soon.
great communication by email before check in with queries. Clean rooms, everything you need, warm welcome, great breakfast. Bar dowstairs open unitl 2 am - very little noise in room (more from seagulls in morning lol) x Very short walk down the hill to the Scarborough Spa.
Stayed here from Tuesday to Friday, very good location really close to everything, shops, beach, pubs and transport. Parking is £3 a day if you get a permit when you check in. The staff were friendly and helpful and the rooms were clean and comfortable. Lots of seagulls seems to be a problem for some people, they are a bit annoying in the morning but that's not the hotel's fault! The only downside for me was hearing the man in the next room snoring! The walls are obviously rather thin. All in all I would recommend Dickens and would rebook if I was ever in Scarborough again 😊
The hotel was in a great spot , very close to the beach & shops only a short walk away. the staff were very friendly & helpful , the full English breakfast was lovely ,plenty of everything, The bedroom & bathroom were very clean, bed comfortable, A very enjoyable stay.
