Very comfortable stayPosted Sep 21, 2015
Pros: The location, the welcome, the quality of the food served and the cleanliness.
Location: Very enjoyable visit to Scarborough and the surrounding area. We particularly enjoyed the castle and a visit to the theatre.
Very friendly welcome and excellent cooked breakfasts! Rear facing room was slightly cramped but well appointed and we had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay.

Comfortable, clean & convenientPosted Sep 2, 2015
Location: Closer to the North bay than the South, although both required an uphill climb back. Convenient for Peasholme park, and a number of local pubs.
First impressions were good, as although I was stopping alone, I was accompanied by my two young nephews when checking in. The lovely lady offered them both a packet of crisps, after explaining the honesty bar to me. Room was comfortable and clean, with a view of the north bay, and convenient for the accommodation my brother had rented for the week. Breakfast was freshly cooked and most enjoyable.

Hotel Amazing.Posted Sep 1, 2015
Pros: Everything. Being able to come and go and have such a spacious apartment was worth every penny of the extra cost above a room.
Cons: Nothing that the hotel have any control over!
Location: Quiet location. Regular bus to South Shore. Museums and Peasholm Park. Beach really good.
I cannot fault this hotel. We stayed in an apartment (ground floor sea view) on a bed and breakfast basis and it was fantastic. Clean, comfortable, spacious, lovely street level sea views and bay window. Every possible comfort was catered for from the deep bath, lashings of hot water, adjustable central heating, soft carpets and crisp bedding. My husband said he could have lived there quite happily! BUT. Scarborough itself seemed to have quite a parking problem - maybe we saw the worst of it as we went Bank Holiday but it spoiled the trip for us. We ended up feeling quite imprisoned and changed all our plans as after we went out to a pre-booked event on Saturday evening an hours drive away we couldn't get parked again when we got back. It was midnight, we were kerb crawling, panicking, trying to find "A2" zones (it is quite a complex system...) or even a pay and display or different zone slot as we became increasingly desperate and after over half an hour we found a space about a mile away from the hotel. During the walk back we did however find one had opened up only a few hundred yards from the hotel so I stood guard in it whilst he fetched the car but we literally daren't move it again so instead of going to the drive in cinema as planned we stayed in and watched TV with a pizza on Sunday night. The apartment was a very nice place to be imprisoned in though!

Lovely hotel in a great locationPosted Aug 30, 2015
A lovely hotel in a great location. Very clean, modern decor and very friendly staff. No problem with parking as we were given a parking permit for the duration of our stay. Breakfast was excellent and nothing was too much trouble. We would definitely stay there again.

A very good stay at Helaina HotelPosted Aug 6, 2015
We had a very warm welcome to the hotel. The room was very good and clean. The breakfast was first class with a good choice and excellent service. The rooms on the front have a very good view and the rooms at the back have no view. The hotel overall was first class and ideal for couples. Parking was ok and a pass was given to us by the hotel. We enjoyed our stay and would stay again at the Helaina.

Good location small room.Posted Jul 19, 2015
We enjoyed our visit to the Helaina. The only downside was that our room was too small. Only one chair, a problem when there are two of you. Bathroom was very good and the room was very clean and well fitted out. If one was available the rooms at the front were much better, roomier with seats and a great sea view. Libby is a great asset to the hotel and went a long way make our stay pleasurable.

Beautiful hotelPosted Jul 13, 2015
Pros: Breakfast! The clean rooms, the location with a beautiful view, super-friendly staff, the honesty bar...
Location: Located at the top of the cliff in Scarborough, offers a fascinating view over the North Bay. The South Bay with lots to do is in walking distance.
We had a lovely stay at the Helaina! Our room was well equipped and clean and so it was easy to feel at home. The staff were really friendly and helpful. We are looking forward to our next trip already.

My husband and I booked this hotel the morning of our stay due to the good reviews, and we're glad we did. The service was exceptional, the room was small but very nice, the breakfast in the morning was excellent, and you cannot beat the location! We stayed at a pricey inn the night before in a picturesque town, and the Helaina was far better and about half the price. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Modern Well Decorated Gem with Attentive StaffPosted Jun 30, 2015 on Hotels
The staff were lovely and attentive, the breakfast was cooked well and a decent sized portion, fresh tea and coffee in the morning as well as a selection of fruit juices, cereals, yoghurt and croissants made for a varied choice each morning. The room was a bit smaller than what I am used to however catered for our every need. The bed was large and comfortable, the bathroom had a shower and the usual facilities and was clean and well presented. Wifi was available in the room and was fast enough for general browsing without lag. Situated on the North Bay the hotel was peaceful and quiet and not too far a walk away from the town or South Bay. Parking was not on-site but a few moments of searching for a space on the road meant that you were close to the hotel... No further than a walk from a city centre hotel with multi level car park. The staff welcomed us warmly and gave us a parking permit that meant parking was free. The hotel is a well decorated modern gem, well presented with attentive staff. I would visit it again if I was to stay in the area again.
