DisappointedPosted Aug 23, 2015
Pros: The food
Cons: A better system for informing customers how, where and when they could park their cars. Room supervision needs to improve.
Location: South Shore promenade has. eating places, beach toys and funfair but also good starting point for cliff walks etc. North Bay prom leads to parks etc
Has been an upmarket hotel in its day but now seems to cater for coach parties. Paper was peeling off the ceiling and 3 of 6 bulbs were not woeking! Main deficit - No Parking facility. So we booked out after the first night. But the food was good.

Old fashioned hotelPosted Aug 11, 2015
Pros: The staff
Cons: It needs a refurbish.
Location: At the top of the town. Near the town lift so easy to get down to the sea front.
We were welcomed by very helpful staff at reception. Could have done with a hand getting the luggage up the steps when we first arrived, but the housekeeper, on duty, helped me to the room with my luggage whilst my husband parked the car. The hotel is very dated and old fashioned. It is clean as much as it can be but it is very worn in areas. The food was not up to a very good standard. Plain and not very inviting. We didn't eat in the hotel in the evening. We didn't like the look of it. Very canteen style. Breakfast on Saturday was very understaffed with only 3 staff working in the restaurant. They tried very hard to cope and still gave everyone a smile. Well done them. The most reasonably priced NCP car park (locked at night) was a good walk away.

Tired hotel needs updatingPosted Aug 10, 2015
Pros: Nothing to recommend it.
Cons: Hotel badly in need of total makeover
Location: Apart from parking arrangements hotel is well placed for most activities in Scarborough.
Worst hotel in my experience .all because of bedroom. Back of hotel onto back alley . Rowdy shouting and music both nights until about 2am. About 7am heavy kitchen trolleys or similar rattling continuously in alley way. Chance to sleep zero. Bathroom attachments badly positioned with towel rail by toilet. Not adequate for all towels. No toilet roll holder of any kind. No bath mats . Told to use hand towels. Towels small for purpose. Parking arrangements unsatisfactory factory.

Lovely welcome from reception, nice clean room, friendly staff, when we books we didn't had breakfast but when we arrived at hotel the reception staff informed me that we had bed and breakfast which was a bonus and it was lovely, buffet style. Would stay again as is in perfect place to get to seafront with kids, tram to beach is opposite!

Needs a bit of tlcPosted Jun 15, 2015
Pros: Mostly friendly staff Location
Cons: Some of the decor
Had a nights stay here for a friends birthday. The hotel ok. Most the staff are really friendly and helpful apart from the lady running breakfast who was incredibly rude. The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. Some of the coridors need a bit of a tidy up and a re paint. Used the pool area and again it just needs a bit of sprucing ok. I would stay again.
