Nice locationPosted Oct 13, 2015
Pros: The location was quiet and pleasant and in the heart of Smith College area. It was nice to have complimentary daily newspapers.
Cons: Being an "Inn", perhaps having some nice snacks and beverages available in the lobby?
Location: Northampton is a great place to wander around with eclectic shops of all kinds and great restaurants. Traveling west are the lovely hilltowns.
Very busy long weekend so room rates were over the top for the accommodation. Room was very small as was the bathroom which could use an update...both were very clean. The queen size bed seemed smaller than queen size, but was comfortable. Nice to have coffee available but the continental breakfast wasn't something I chose to take advantage of....unappealing. Staff was friendly and helpful and we were pleasantly surprised our room was ready hours before the check-in time!

Pros: Proximity to Smith College and downtown Northampton
Location: Northampton is a beautiful town full of fabulous architectural heritage and interesting boutiques and restaurants.
The best thing about the Autumn Inn is that it is only a short walk to Smith College. This was really convenient as I didn't have a car with me. Bed was surprisingly comfortable. Breakfast was OK but would have been better if it included more hot food choices. Beware: make-your-own waffles tasted like cardboard! Only real concern was a glimpse of what appeared to be a cockroach in the bathroom one night.

Pros: Location, comfort of rooms.
Cons: Not sure, we had a great stay.
Location: Beautiful countryside nearby - also nice shops.
Philip was a great and friendly host. We felt very much at home. His breakfasts were great!

Good Location, not-so-nice roomsPosted Aug 18, 2015 on Hotels
I was more than a little disappointed with the hotel. The picture makes it look like a quaint local inn, but it is little more than a motel. The hotel was run down and in bad shape. The walls were unfinished, the room smelled of mold and mildew and my nose was immediately congested once I got into our room. The shower pipes made terrible noises and there was an ant or rat trap under our bed, which I noticed when we were packing up to leave. The pool was nice though and rare to find in New England hotels. The breakfast was decent, run of the mill. Too bad the room where you eat is so run down and dingy.

Good value, convenient locationPosted Aug 14, 2015
Cons: hard to say in the midst of a renovation project
Location: Walkable distance to downtown but in a quiet location
We arrived in the midst of a huge renovation project so we were upgraded, which was nice. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast could have used some more fresh fruit and freshly baked goods.

15 min walk to downtown NorthamptonPosted Aug 13, 2015
First floor rooms better than 2nd floor - steps made it difficult for heavy duffle bag. Missing shower curtain in tub, so water flooded on bathroom floor. . . rate discount was received upon checkout Variable rates - differed from one Fri to the following Fri GREAT helpful front desk staff - did research on internet for things to do and advise. Warm and friendly

Over ChargedPosted Aug 5, 2015 on Hotels
The hotel did not inform that the renovation was underway. Even though the room was clean, the room and the hallway were filled with terrible chemical odor. It was really bad. The wallpaper on the hallway has been peeled off everywhere and looked mess. May be the chemical used for the peeling caused this problem. They should cut the price by half during the renovation or not accept customers. We believe that this hotel would be much nicer when the renovation is over since they have a nice pool, good location near the town and the great breakfast services.

Nice but in need of a little TLC...Posted Jul 26, 2015 on Hotels
Spent a week while visiting our granddaughter. Very nice location right up the street from Smith College and just under a mile to the charm of main street Northhampton. Friendly staff, nice little secluded pool area and a pretty good simple breakfast set-up. Only issue was the carpets, kind of getting a little funky smelling and it is just time for them to be replaced.
