Great stay at this massive country house hotel. Staff were incredibly kind, room was very historic and great to stay in. Loved the walks around the property, main reason for going this time. Highly recommended luxury stay.

Fabulous little break
We had a wonderful stay at Fawsley , the room was comfortable and very clean The spa was lovely particularly enjoyed the Himalayan salt sauna Unfortunately the jacuzzi broke down so only had one evening session during our visit The atmosphere of this beautifully renovated historic building made the stay perfect The food was excellent and every member of staff were so welcoming friendly helpful

Nice spa great service all round
The staff are great and super helpful, the food was excellent, the fresh mint gathered by the friendly Barman for my wife’s mohito was a great touch, thank you. Rooms are perfectly fine although could do with a little updating. Grounds and surrounding area very pretty and quiet. My wife used the spa and would stay again just for that, pool good outdoor jacuzzi nice and the cafe and staff lovely.

Come only for the spa and local area
The hotel is surrounded by rolling fields and lakes, in a lovely rural location. Driving along the country lane and going through the hotel's gates is a great way to arrive. However, unfortunately, we found the hotel experience very underwhelming. We paid extra for a superior feature room, but it was not money well spent. The room was a good size but lacked any character and felt very soulless with white walls, old-fashioned carpets and dark traditional furniture. Although, the bed was comfortable and the shower was good. The service was also below par. While the staff were friendly, there is a distinct lack of training and experience. Everything took a long time and when it did arrive was not always correct or served unprofessionally, such as coffee coming cold, wrong and spilt over the sides of the cup. The food at dinner was OK but overpriced. The hot breakfast food was good, but the cold continental was quite depressing in a dark room with lots of packaged goods and a lack of freshness. The spa is the main attraction and is well-equipped, and my wife had 2 very good treatments. However, it is let down by tidiness with used towels and empty glasses left out. It is also expensive - £3 for a cereal bar! Generally, I think the hotel needs to focus on the basics of providing good service and standards to justify the price. There were multiple occasions this was lacking - uneven tables, drinks not coming, spa till not working, no umbrellas, rubbish under sofas.

A lovely stay and relaxing. But small things need to be addressed Bathroom no flash guard on shower door could become dangerous if someone fell Getting out of shower. Would have thought if you booked two rooms you would both been in same building especially as the hotel was quiet.

Lovely hotel
The hotel is lovely, very well maintained and clean. I only stayed overnight so didn't have a chance to visit the spa however everything else was fantastic, including the breakfast!

This is the second time we have stayed at the hotel, the service was much better last time. our room was not cleaned properly, we had to find loo roll in the public toilets, very little table service in the bar/ courtyard area. the food however was excellent and the staff were very friendly, but overall we felt the experience was bellow standard for the price and a lot worse than previous. most of the staff seemed to be trainees which I understand but you would think at a 4 star hotel an experienced member of staff would be on hand to make sure we were well looked after.

Subtle & friendly luxury...
A bite-size stately home experience ! Elegant comfort and a real warmth about the place. Lots of personality... Ideally located in beautiful countryside but within striking distance of the M40, this place offers escapism, food food and a great nights sleep. Excellent service all round with stand out performances from Mo at breakfast and Loren on front desk.

Really lovely staying in an authentic ancient property. Very interesting to see the photos of the place before it was renovated. Our room was in the old house which was nice. The restaurant food was very of excellent quality. The only downside was the price of drinks in the bar and restaurant, but we expect they were making the most of the place being miles away from any other pub/restaurant.

Lovely lounge, great breakfast.
Beautiful lounge in a great hall, lovely spa with hot outside tab. Really nice breakfast with perfectly cooked fish. Please be aware that both restaurant and spa treatments 'are mostly booked up on weekends' . Hotel staff was very surprised we wanted to use those. Anyway, if you don't manage to book restaurant in advance, I recommend lovely Portuguese place Maria's Kitchen which is 2.8 miles away. Hotel staff relied on google for advice and could not find us anything on the night of Dennis storm.

Ok.
It was ok but nothing spectacular, but many small errors led to an average stay. Won’t be visiting again. 1 robe in room, then no robes available at spa was frustrating. Dinner was ok but again, in the beautiful setting, it lacked the personal touch. It might be because it was post festive period but everything just seemed a bit tired m. Sadly not the special trip I had hoped for. Please don’t feel put off by this review. For 150pn it’s good value for money.
