Great location but stuffy rooms

Posted Mar 12, 2017
Pros: Location, cleanliness of rooms
Cons: Free wifi, air conditioning or better cooling units
Location: Cataract Gorge, great restaurants (few open on Sunday and Monday nights), easy access to north west and east west day trips
Great location but be prepared for clock tower bells ringing every 15 mins. 24/7. Room too stuffy to close windows. No air conditioning - room cooled by unit attached to wall, very noisy and inefficient. When reporting to desk that room stuffy, was told to open windows and that we would get used to noise of bells. Great location but not in summer. No free wifi which is quite annoying.

Good hotel located in city

Posted Mar 11, 2017
Pros: Good location , comfortable and large room.
Cons: Air Conditioning system.
Location: Central City location . Close to Highway access. Very easy to get around from the Hotel.
Hotel location is excellent. Our room was not airconditioned except for a temporary mobile unit placed in the room . As we were in Launceston when the city was experiencing a hot summer spell this made the room a little hot . We were able to cope OK as we live in the Tropics. The room was large and otherwise very comfortable. The Restaurant food was good. The Hotel caters for Bus Tour Groups so at times the Bar and restaurant can be very busy.

Central Location

Posted Mar 7, 2017
Pros: Great location Great amenities
Cons: Sort out the noisy air conditioner. Provide better pillows.
Location: The location is central to shopping, City Park, walking distance to riverside precinct and to The Gorge
Easy walking distance to many of Launceston's attractions. Room had noisy stand alone air conditioner which diminished enjoyment - needed to turn it off to sleep. Luckily window could be opened. Otherwise an enjoyable stay.

Great beds, pillows and towels.

Posted Mar 5, 2017
Overall this is a very good hotel. Bed, bedding and towels were excellent. Staff - very efficient. But (where there shouldn't be a "but" in a hotel like this) the room had a portable air conditioning unit in it sitting on the floor. It looked permanent. It was extremely noisy & truely ineffective. It was working okay but A/C just couldn't handle the heat load in the room. Definitely you couldn't sleep with it running. Got some light relief from open windows but a lot of noise outside from returning guests at midnight & beyond.

Nice hotel within walking distance of CBD

Posted Mar 1, 2017
Pros: Close to everything
Location: Launceston is a historical city so we walked the heritage trail which gives you the history of the buildings
Stayed here for 6 nights and used it as a base to explore the North of Tasmania.

Nice Central Location

Posted Feb 6, 2017
Pros: Location
Location: Cataract Gorge is a must do.
Busy hotel in the heart of the city. Close to City Park and many restaurants in the CBD. Room is spacious, however central air con is not working so there is a separate air con unit in the room which can be a bit loud at times.

Well located to CBD, City Park, UTAS Stadium etc

Posted Feb 1, 2017
Pros: General appearance, comfortable room, centrally located
Cons: Include off street parking in the room tariff. Perhaps a welcome gift. Obvious that everything is costed to the cent including the 3% plus Amex charge
Location: Quick walk to CBD, City Park UTAS Stadium and many other attractions
Booked this hotel mainly for location to UTAS Stadium but also very close to many other attractions, free Tiger Bus during the day. Charge for parking a little bit off, as is the credit card fees.

Enjoyed stay although disappointed that Lobby bar had closed when we returned to the hotel at 10pm on a Saturday night!
