Very nice place while visiting Australian Capital located in the Central Business District with a lots of places to eat and shop. Close to historic downtown of Canberra and surrounding areas.

Housekeeping was poor. No soap in bathroom. No exhaust fan in bathroom but a sign threatening a $500 fine if steam goes outside, did not change any clean glasses.. housekeeping did not pick up one piece of rubbish left on the floor staff very friendly at reception, but housekeeping leaves a lot to be desired. Old facilities, will not stay there again.

Not recommended
I was very disappointed with the cleanliness of the room and the hotel. The carpet was filthy and the room looked like it had not been cleaned for a long time. When I complained, they moved me to another room, but it was not much better. The carpet was still dirty and the bathtub had peeling paint. I do not recommend this hotel and I will never stay here again.

Rooms in good condition and comfortable
The room was quite large and comfortable however I found it to be a little dated. The TV wasn't smart and I wasn't able to connect my devices. The decor was dated as well but in good condition and comfortable.

I wouldn’t stay at Novotel Canberra again… the check in process was long and annoying as we couldn’t park our car at the hotel. The staff need to be retained. We got charged for items that they didn’t have on their room service menu. The reception and room service teams were hard to get a hold of. There was no late night menu and the room was awkward with the bathroom sink in the middle of the room and not part if the bathroom. Would have been nice to have a bath however there was only a shower. The bed was very soft and uncomfortable and only had 2 soft pillows… I had to request more pillows three times before we got more. I won’t be going back to the Novotel Canberra anytime soon.

Our stay at the Novotel Canberra was disappointing. We booked a room with a fold out sofa bed for our daughter - the sofa bed mattress was old and saggy and the bed was not made up when we arrived. The morning of our check out, there was a homeless man sleeping on the day bed outside the elevators. He knocked on our door and when we opened the door he told us he had heard gunshots. This made us feel very unsafe. When we reported this to the hotel staff they did not make any offer to follow up or check in with us to ensure we knew they had taken action.

Room was old, was put in a disabled room so everything was too low and was more like a hospital room than a hotel room. I went with Novotel thinking I would get a half decent hotel room. Well I know better next time and to think I paid just on $200 for a room with bugs hiding under the carpet too.

We got upgraded to a King room for free after requesting a change of original room that was very narrow and dark. Staff very accomodating and friendly. Hotel very close to city centre. Parking very inconvenient. We cannot reserve despite being a guest to the hotel. Their parking is a first come first serve basis. Your car have to be at the hotel before 5pm to secure a space. So you sacrifice all your itineraries so to reserve a parking.

The property was surprisingly older than I expected. Furniture and all looked really quite old. Room confirguation was also weird - I'm not sure why the sink is placed outside of the bathroom and in the open area of the room. Also, the hotel pool offered a "spa" - which was actually just a jacuzzi bath; quite disappointing, but I'm not really sure who is at fault since maybe it's just a language difference. Nothing particularly wrong with it, but I've seen better from Novotel. Other than that, staff were very helpful, professional, and efficient. They also let us leave our luggage at the hotel while my husband and I went to Floriade.

The room was given to us in a pathetic state, there was dust everywhere and stains on the TV remote, the spoons were not washed and to top it all, they left a card to exchange it for a 2 drink voucher at the reception and the reception says its not for 1 night stays. If so why leave the card in the room? The only good thing about this hotel is location. They say its 24 hour reception but out of 3 times I called, they only answered once that too to check out.

Arrived late and tired- good service from Katherine who was very accommodating. The venue is looking a bit tired in the hallways needs some new flooring, room was fine, family friendly which is good, enjoyed breaky (although some stale croissants let it down a little) otherwise again we were accommodated well by staff. Enjoyed the pool was clean, some little gem shat in the spa but the staff were very quick to empty it clean it all and cleanse it effectively with new water and new chemical filled tested in side a few hours- impressive response. Sauna is epic! Yep it’s worth the stay- thanks to the team for the effort and friendliness 👍👍👍👍
