Anyone thinking of booking this hotel should know that, according to hotel staff, there will be 2 years of works in front of the hotel. At the moment, the front of the hotel is inaccessible by car as the street is blocked off. If you've reserved parking (a small number of spaces are available), access to the hotel is easier through the rear entrance on the rue de Richeborg.
The rooms were clean and tidy, with generously sized beds that were very comfortable. Tea and coffee making facilities were available in the room (although no milk/creamer was offered, so drinks had to be taken black). Anyone staying in the hotel should know that you need to insert the key card in the slot beside the door before the lights will work. The shower is over a high-sided bath, so anyone with mobility difficulties might find it hard to get into and out of the bath.
The hotel is not in the centre of town (it is opposite the Central Station), but it is in very easy walking distance of the chateaux des Ducs de Bretagne, the Jardin des Plantes and (+/- 15 mins) from the Place Royale.
Breakfast (an additional price of €9.90 at the time of writing) is continental buffet style, with a choice of breads, pastries, meats and cheese, fruits, yoghurts, tea and coffee. It was all frequently replenished during service, so there was always a good selection.
