I arrived late after multiple flights and 10 different time zones. Staff was ready for my arrival and made sure I had everything I needed to relax and recover from my travels. Room was clean, quiet, and very comfortable.

Close to everything we needed

Our room was very clean, quiet, and comfortable. Good food and mall shopping is in walking distance. The hotel was a short drive to everything we needed in Fairfax.

Nice hotel near the mall... our room faced into the hotel with a balcony overlooking the inside. This was different, but I didn't mind it. However, because it faces into the hotel, there are no windows. So, it's very dark in the mornings which I didn't really mind. The staff were all very friendly.

Great location

Pros: location close to everything, the staff was wonderful
Cons: the temperature in the room and hotel itself
The hotel was very nice, clean and close to food and shopping. The only complaint we had is the room was very warm, we turned the temperature down but oh course we really don't have control of the thermostat. I would guess and say it was 75 in our room, but the lobby and hallways to the rooms were stuffy and very very warm!!

Awesome stay, great location!

Pros: The staff is great, very accommodating and overall has great customer service. The rooms are always clean and beds very comfortable.
Cons: The bar/restaurant menu could use some updating. Also, during both visits to the hotel there's a new person at the bar who hasn't been trained.
Location: Fair Oaks Mall is directly across the street and Old Town Fairfax is only about 10 minutes away. There are a ton of restaurants in the area as well.
We've stayed at this hotel twice now and have enjoyed our stay each time.

weekend stay

Pros: Hard to find a bad Marriot
Cons: Parking lot is not well lit, this may be a zoning or ambient light issue, don't know.
Like almost all Marriott's it is a very nice place. We're only in town for Friday and Saturday nights so we get great rates. Previously we would stay near our destination of Pentagon City. You can get good weekend rates there also but pay a stupid premium for parking, no parking fee here. There is a full service restaurant within the hotel. I knew that there's no free breakfast but the breakfast buffet and ala carte menu was WAY overpriced. Drove 5 minutes and ate for half of what we would of spent. The in room coffee service wasn't stocked properly, it contained two cups but coffee and supplies for one. The wife likes Marriott....happy wife, happy life.

Bring a Parka.

Overall the hotel is very nice, and in a good location. The lobby is nice, clean, fresh, and new looking. The rooms are clean and very comfortable. Three general complaints: One, the Expedia ad should have mentioned there is no swimming pool. Two, the property is kept too cold. I overheard several other guests complaining as they were leaving the bar/restaurant area. Three, if you have an interior room, expect to be woken up around 5:30 AM with the Restaurant setting up for breakfast.
