US Le Meridien hotels not their European equiv!
Posted Oct 29, 2016
It is unlikely we will ever stay in a U.S. based Le Meridien hotel again. They are not the equivalent of their European namesake, where we have had many very pleasant experiences in their London hotel. We booked our room for one night at the last minute as we had to attend a funeral.
We were given a lower quality 'family' room to what we had booked and prepaid, and told by the arrogant, rude, front desk staff, that was all they could offer us. The room was sparsely equipped and did not have the advertised 'bathrobes' that we expected.
The room's air conditioning vents were dirty and covered in dust, as if they hadn't been cleaned in years. The air quality in the room was probably very unhealthy!
The bed was ok but the pillows were very hard leaving both myself and my wife with neck ache in the morning.
We had also prepaid for the breakfast, what we had 'prepaid' was just a credit to the bill, not a complete breakfast! The service was slow, probably half an hour longer than would have been expected, and the scrambled eggs we ordered seemed 'hours' old (if not from the previous day!).
My advice to anyone considering this hotel would be to go to a better quality Hampton Inn type instead, where you know what you are getting for half the price of a Le Meridien.
