Weekend getaway

Posted Sep 20, 2016
It was nice and cozy. Just a few missed opportunities in my opinion. For one they have a beautiful restaurant at the peak and when they have weddings or events going on there is no other place to have dinner on sight! No place to grab a quick drink to relax either. I just feel like for the price there should at least be a place I can eat dinner. second and not a big thing but checkout is 10am although an hour isn't a huge deal it's still not the industry standard of 11am.

Great place to stay

Posted Sep 6, 2016
Pros: Cleanliness of cabins and the resort overall
Cons: Opening the restaurant later in the day for dinner would be good. We arrived late in the day and then had to try and find a place for dinner.
Location: Great hiking nearby and some really nice little towns by the sea too
We had an amazing time at the Point Lookout Resort over the Labour day long wend. The cabins are great, we are a family of 5 and stayed in a 2-bed 2-bath cabin which was way better than thought it would be. The cabins were really clean and the kitchen had everything we needed, even a corkscrew! The site has lots of amenities and everything is provided for you to use, the staff were also really friendly and helpful. There are some nice trails around the site but you're not too far from Camden Hills State park if you fancy something a bit more strenuous. I would definitely recommend the Point Lookout Resort, we will be back.

The cabins are nice but don't expect luxury

Posted Aug 1, 2016
Late checkout out fee: almost a scam. 10am check out is a joke, offering guest to pay $50 for "late" checkout (12pm only) is ridiculous. I spent my birthday weekend there and we couldn't be ready in time for the 10am checkout. I asked as nicely and politely as possible if an "effort" could be done regarding the "late" checkout fee (my wife and I were out by 11am). Answer was unrealted to my request (a large group is coming today...): don't get me wrong, I understand stupid rules. But tell me no, don't dismiss me with an unrelated excuse.

Cosy Cabins on an amazing facility.

Posted Jul 18, 2016
Property is huge and beautifully maintained. Cabins are modern, comfortable and clean with a nice sitting area, kitchen and screened in porch. Would have preferred a couch to leather chairs in the living room but hard to complain. Fields and play area for kids. Hike or drive to a remote lake for swimming or kayaking. Working organic farm on site with farm to table events and yummy breakfast and lunch daily at the cafe. Loved the GF french toast. Amazing views of Camden from the top of the resort. Be aware this is not in Camden but a 10-15 minute drive.

Average resort, not good value for money.

Posted May 27, 2016 on Hotels
We booked this for five people and as such expected that there would be the availability of five beds, either as sofa bed or bed. Not so, there was two double beds and we had to pay extra for a rollaway. The resort was pretty dated and the advertisement is deceiving. No views unless you drive to the summit which we did only to be told there was a wedding event happening so we could not use the lookout! The bathroom was tiny and badly designed with the vanity next to the toilet and not the sink. Not enough towels for four people let alone five. The checkout time is 10am which is ridiculous especially as the resort was very quiet at this time of the year. It was in my view expensive as it was out of season and just not up to scratch. I doubt I would stay again

Weekend in the forest

Posted Apr 28, 2016
Pros: nice modern clean cabins. very comfortable and quiet.
Cons: everything was great. I wish it was ocean view.
Location: Located near the ocean. Many nearby small towns to visit. No McDonalds, Starbucks,Duncun Donuts or anything else fast. That is a great thing.
Go visit the transportation museum about 30 minutes away.

Nice place to stay

Posted Apr 18, 2016
Cabin was nice they don't have any laundry facilities even though it's listed on Expedia's website and when I called the front to find out about a place to do laundry the person I spoke to had an oh well attitude she said its Expedia's fault for listing it on their website and of course Expedia said its the property's fault for not asking them to correct the listing it wouldn't have been a big deal but we hiked Acadia for a couple days and needed to wash clothes We also had the pleasure of a 5:45 am chain saw wake up followed by people in the cabin next to us yelling at the company cutting the tree. A storm came through the night before knocking down trees one blocked a small part of the road and they could have waited until 7am or so to remove them but they didn't and the last day of our vacation we were up at 5:45am like a regular work day and again the front desk person really didn't care
