Pros: Everything
Location: Great
In spite of the heavy rain, we were given a warm welcome, with Sandie greeting us as we parked with a large umbrella. The views were wonderful and our room comfortable. We considered ourselves lucky to be there.

A great place to stay, with excellent roomy accommodation, and the fantastic Northumbrian countryside right on your doorstep. Sandie is a really welcoming host, and we were set up for the day with full English breakfast - fab !

Pros: Above all, the setting. Sandie was a great and very helpful host, and it was a very comfortable B&B with good food.
Location: I only stayed one night, so apart from eating in the local pub, which was fine, I can't say much about things to do nearby.
I spent a night at Carr Edge during my walk along Hadrian's wall path. It is around a couple of miles from Chesters fort, off the Hadrians wall path, which might seem like a lot if, like me, that is at the end of a long days walk, but it is lovely. Luckily, when I arrived it was clear and sunny, because the hilltop setting and the views it offers is absolutely spectacular. Sandie was also a wonderful, welcoming host, who offered me a very welcome pot of tea as soon as I arrived, and the chance to dry out my wet footwear from the previous day.The room was lovely and comfortable and the shower was fantastic. That evening I ate in the Red Lion in Newbrough which was very nice and reasonably priced. I met some really nice people over breakfast, which was lovely and plentiful. Overall, the beautiful setting of Carr Edge stands out for me but I found it to be a lovely, welcoming, comfortable place to stay.

Carr Edge Farm was one of our favourite places we stayed at on our recent trip. Could not fault any part of our 2 night stay. Sandi was extremely helpful from the time we arrived until we left, offering tips and places to see. From our room we could see and hear the sheep which was nice. Would definitely stay there again.

A warm welcome from the owner, comfortable room and hearty breakfast which catered for our gluten free diet request. Good chats with owner who gave good advise on where to visit.

Sandie is a wonderful hostess! We had a hard 24km walk and the deep, hot bath and comfy room and bed did the trick in getting us right for the next 24km!

Lovely farmhouse with wonderful views of the hills

Pros: Mrs Gibson was so very friendly and a nice pot of tea on checking in was a lovely touch. Super room and a super breakfast made the stay great.
Cons: If I was being absolutely picky the shower flow was a bit slow but it did not detract from the stay at all.
Location: Being located in the least populated county in England, that has superb countryside, beaches and hills it is all there for everyone to explore.
Picking my way up the drive to the farm through a flock of sheep and lambs told me Carr Edge was different. A Geordie by birth, I spent my early years on a farm in Northumberland and this stay made me remember the good things about my county. I look forward to being able to stay at Carr Edge again.

Carr Edge Farm is nestled away in the beautiful Northumberland countryside. How fantastic to wake up to the sound of sheep in the surrounding fields. We had a fab stay on the farm - lovely clean room and Sandie the owner provided an excellent cooked breakfast. This was the perfect break we needed and met all out expectations coupled with fantastic views and weather!
