Ideal for a one night stop overPosted Sep 19, 2015
Pros: Breakfast was good.
Cons: Please make it clearer in the online booking that we were expected to phone in with a time of arrival.
Location: Right in the middle of a lovely town, right next to supermarket and the amenities.
Small twin room and ensuite (would have been cramped for two), with some nice toiletries and big thick towels. Lovely and clean room, in the middle of the town. I hadn't realised that we were meant to let them know arrival time if it would be between 4 and 7, (the times given), which was embarassing. As a business user it would have been useful to have a desk rather than a chest of drawers and wardrobe but that may not be the case for folk on holiday. Breakfast was good.

An enjoyable stay - we were made most welcome and there were lots of really nice little touches in the room and main areas. However, some of the décor and facilities did not seem to be of a good standard.

Not the bestPosted Aug 2, 2015 on Hotels
This accommodation is in need of modernisation very dated furniture and decor, the room I was given no en suite only a sink I was given a key to a bathroom along the corridor the TV was very small like a monitor. The landlady gave the impression that she would rather be doing something else than running a B&B. After staying in many establishments this one has a false rating. As for the breakfast the quality and quality left a lot to be desired. I would not stay at this accommodation again.

Decent B&B close to the town centre.Posted Feb 25, 2015
Pros: Decent accommodation at an affordable price. Close to town centre where we wanted to be.
Cons: Some elements getting a bit tired but as it is an old character house, more than acceptable.
We were warmly welcomed and Gill did her very best to make our stay pleasant and comfortable. An excellent breakfast.

Lovely stay in MopethPosted Dec 24, 2014 on Hotels
Everything was lovely apart from very noisy piping... Woke us up a few times! Breakfast was PERFECT, lovely coffee, tea and eggs... Ah the eggs! The housekeeper was so pleasant, a really friendly lady and helpful. The bathroom was just what we needed... Although the shower was lacking power. I have nearly waist length thick hair, so spent a really long time wetting it and rinsing! Very laid back atmosphere, in a perfect location to the town. Thank you so much for a fantastic stay, would definitely recommend and come back if we come back up!

Castle ViewPosted Oct 31, 2014 on Hotels
We were made very welcome and every effort was made to make our stay enjoyable. The room was small but adequate for our needs. The breakfast provided had a wide choice and was well cooked and presented.

Excellent value for moneyPosted Sep 25, 2014
Pros: Cheap, friendly, clean, quiet
Cons: For the price, nothing.
Location: Close to the centre of Morpeth, but not on a busy road. We went there to visit. Cragside.
If you just want a friendly place to stay for a couple of nights, the Castle View will do you fine. The owner is very friendly and helpful, the place is clean and quiet, easy to find and close to the centre of Morpeth. Breakfast is good, though only served till 8:30, with the usual range of options. It's not smart or luxurious (there's no lounge for guests), but if you want that, you'll have to pay for it! We would definitely go back if we were in the area.
