Poor quality Courtyard in hotel park near Gary, IN

Pros: Leaving it.
Cons: Keep the restaurant open, or advise otherwise. Close pool, which must be expensive to maintain. No way to upgrade building.
Location: Off freeway, nothing nearby except chains.
Unexpectedly cheap construction for a Courtyard, a normally middle tier business line. Restaurant closed without notice, room noisy, site depressing. Staff cheerful.

We did some deep cleaning that night due to the extremely low occupancy. Just Okay

Experience could have been better, but there was a horrible mildew smell in the room. The manager came and sprayed but it came back after a couple of hours. There were also stains on the sofa. The bed was comfortable and room quite spacious. The staff acted quickly to resolve our concerns. Breakfast was good as well.

Greatvisit but 30 min drive to casino w no shuttle

Super Comfy king bed, tucked away in a nice little area, only downfall is 30 min drive to horseshoe casino, website said 5 miles! Clean and staff was friendly!!!!

Needs an upgrade

I felt like I was in a 1970s drug movie. The room decor is extremely outdated and the layout of the room was just weird. They need to upgrade everything...especially for how much the room was.

Found a washcloth in the shower left behind by previous guests. Washcloth had blood on it. Kind of ruined the whole stay. I was given complementary breakfast on last day of my stay.

Staff Makes the Difference

The staff at this location are wonderful! Everyone made us feel "right at home." Registration genuinely welcomed us and always made contact as we left each day. My girlfriend asked for a few extra French vanilla creamers in the cafe to take back to her room for coffee one morning and the next morning Tammy had a few extra set aside for her. The amazing thing wasn't that Tammy remembered my girlfriends request, it was that she set them aside in a little bag and asked another employee to make sure she got them because Tammy was going to be on vacation the next day! From the housekeepers to the front desk, this hotel is doing it right:)
