Bad Choice

Posted Aug 25, 2015
I was disappointed. Perhaps I failed to read other comments prior to booking. I checked in, looked at the room and concluded that my daughter would scream if she had to overnight there. We did not. Instead checked in at the Comfort Inn.

Staff was kind. Hotel room and ground not clean. Steps up to second level were cracked and full of debris. Had issues with key card, staff helpful but felt in safe.

50% CHEAPER AT LEAST: great deal

Posted Aug 3, 2015
Pros: The room size, the fridge, and microwave. The price was the best price.
Cons: The doors were filthy and the frames around the doors. There is so much potential with bringing this place up to standards with just some fresh paint.
Location: We like the Michigan City Beach. Its just right down the street.
I have been visiting the DUNES for years. I stay in all of the hotels. This time I met some friends to share a room. The room had a nice TV, fridge, and microwave. It was large enough to walk around and be very comfortable. It was the same room as the Red Roof Inn. On a busy summer weekend the other hotels are getting close to big money+. This room was a cheap night. YES. The value was there. I went to the dollar store the night before and bought some Hostess donuts, little plates, Starbucks coffee in a glass jar, and some individual boxes of apple jacks. My version of a continental breakfast. So for the price its "bare bones" If your on a tight budget, but this was the best value. HENCE> Knights Inn used to be my favorite for a cheap place to stay, but the last time I stayed there, the mattress was on the floor, the curtains were torn, and the fridge and microwave with other furniture were missing. So compared to that, this was a palace.

Motel in the eighty

Posted Aug 2, 2015
The motel reminded us with those we had in the eighty: poor management, poor hygiene, low respect to customers and no hope for improvement.

Don't stay here

Posted Jul 21, 2015
it might be cheap but it's too far away and not a nice hotel. Bathroom was gross and carpet was stained and mini fridge didn't work and hotel staff awful.

Warm water/bed/door, with the lock on it

Average hotel, located right by the interstate. OK for the price. Nothing to write home about but, it provides all the basics. I'd stay there again, for $70 per night. Anything above that, will be too much money, for what they provide.

need of repair and remodel

Posted Jul 7, 2015
Facility was woefully unsatisfying and in need of repairs - hole in wall, ripped lamp shade hopefully all rooms were not so much in disarray The staff though kind was not sure how to bill thru expedia or close out my charges esp when I left a day early due to the unsatisfactory conditions Everywhere was to be smoke free but everything smelled like smoke and the parkinglot was literally full of cigarettes

Terrible Hotel

Posted Jul 5, 2015
Pros: The air conditioning worked well.
Cons: LOTS! Paint, new carpet, and new cleaning staff!
Location: Location is kind of secluded, but it was not too far from the beach, casino and the outlet mall.
Our room smelled and was quite dirty. The bedding and bath tub was clean, but the other furniture and carpet was disgusting. The walls were very thin so you could hear everyone in their rooms. Where our room was located there were mostly long term/monthly guests staying and some of them were kind of scary. The lady @ check in was nice, but when we checked out a different lady said she could not give us a receipt even though we were told @ check in we could obtain one when we left. For the fee we paid we didn't expect the RITZ, but we expected it to be clean! When we stopped for instructions at a near by gas station the attendant asked if we booked it by accident? We should have went elsewhere then, but we didn't! We definitely would NOT recommend this hotel to anyone not even our worst enemy!
