Let down by one of the staff and room quality
Arrived a few hours before check in started (around 12:30 on Saturday) as we planned to park the car then go into town but the great member of staff on reception at the time said the room was ready so we could drop our stuff off in there, so we thought great start! We paid more and booked one of the suites which, when we got in, was very dated. Lots of stains on the sofa. TV remote didn’t work properly. Door security latch was broken and the bath water control didn’t work properly. On the Sunday night around 19:50 we went to reception to ask if we could get a couple of plates and cutlery, a very common request in hotels, so we thought, but the lady on the reception at the time seemed to be startled speaking to us as if we had asked for something out of the ordinary. We went into the restaurant where a lovely member of staff there fulfilled our request with a smile. I don’t think the lady that was on reception that evening should be working in hospitality as she seemed not to know how to speak to or deal with customers in hospitality.

Great welcoming Hotel. Unfortunately my room was next to an air conditioning unit which kept me awake for some of the night. If I had been in another room it would have been a 10/10.

Okay for price
Okay for sub £100 a night price point. A bit dated and tired around the edges but room clean, bathroom new and bed comfortable. No complementary water. I didn’t have breakfast. Shower cold on first day but that was fixed for the second day. Wouldn’t rush back but wouldn’t avoid.

Great service, but wouldn't stay again.
We were there for a wedding, despite a lot of people checking on at once the process was quick and the welcome was VERY warm. The room was large and clean. Every encounter with the staff was a pleasure. And the food at the wedding was great, tasty and huge portions! On a more negative side, the water pressure was attrocious, I gave up on my shower half way through. Also the bed was extremely soft.
