    About this property

Cozy Casa Steps From Beach, Minutes to Guiones Surf & All Things Nosara!

Vacation home with private pool, walk to Nosara Beach
Casa Kela is a spacious, safe and comfortable three bedroom home located in Playa Pelada. Just a short, 8 minute walk to the beach, Casa Kela is also conveniently located within walking distance to some of the areas best restaurants, like la Luna, El Chivo and El Pepperoni as well as La Bodega, a small local grocery that also serves coffee, smoothies and fresh baked goods. Playa Pelada is also the home of the best sunset spot within miles -Olga's- where you can catch all of the locals, expats and visitors who gather there for the nightly sunset ritual! If you are looking to surf, just a twenty minute walk along the beach, puts you on Guiones Beach where you can enjoy world class surf. By car or quad it will take only a few minutes. Casa Kela has three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The master suite includes the biggest, deepest and most comfortable king-sized mattress ever, as well as a walk-in closet, walk in glass and tiled shower with a built in bench and double sink vanity. The master suite has a door that leads directly out to the pool for late night dips and is separated from the additional bedrooms by the living space, kitchen and long hallway. The kitchen, stocked by the original owners who planned on retiring there, is fully loaded with every imaginable kitchen implement including a gas range and oven, full sized refrigerator and freezer, microwave and everything else you could possible need or want during your stay. And guess what? The tap water is very good for drinking! The open kitchen looks onto the living area which has a large couch, love seat and coffee table. Off of the kitchen a hallway leads to a full bath and two bedrooms. Both equipped with ample closet space, dressers, cabinets and night stands. All of the bedrooms and living areas have ceiling fans and individual, modern air conditioning units. The bathroom has a soaking tub and shower. There is a re-enforced, closet sized “safe” to store your valuables while you are out and about. Although Casa Kela has never been compromised it is best to keep your valuable things, especially electronics, safe or with you at all times. Off of the living area a glass door leads you out into the pool area where you will find comfortable seating under a covered area, for reading and lounging, or in the sun, by our beautiful custom tile pool that includes a long lap lane for swimming as well as room to splash and play in. An outdoor gas grill, gas burner and sink, make preparing meals outside a breeze! There is also a huge outdoor shower and hammock to nap or read in. Our outdoor area is very near our next door neighbors outdoor area and is separated by a concrete wall. We ask that you respect the close proximity and stay mindful of noise levels. They are fantastic people who have lived there many years and can be quite helpful. They also help provide a level of security and inside knowledge unavailable to most visitors. Also within walking distance on a gorgeous hiking trail that begins on the beach, is the river mouth where the Nosara River meets the sea. There is a lovely little "Tico" hangout there serving cold drinks and "Tipico" food. (Tico, is the name for the local people and tipico is used to describe local, typical food.) Horseback riding is available there, as is stand-up paddle boarding and river kayaking. There is so much to enjoy without ever having to drive from Casa Kela, but with a car you can explore Nosara proper where one can experience the real local culture, or head twenty miles north for stunning beaches, snorkeling and turtles, or south to The Nosara Yoga Institute, for daily classes and a variety of shops and restaurants to suit every palate and taste.
Air-conditioned accommodations at this vacation home offer private pools. Kitchens offer full-sized refrigerators/freezers, microwaves, cookware/dishes/utensils, and coffee/tea makers. Bathrooms include bathtubs or showers.

Peaceful and spacious house in Playa Pelada

We loved staying in Casa Kela. The property manager Angela went above and beyond to help us have a wonderful stay. The pool is perfect, we used it many times over our 9 night stay. The house was clean & well maintained with a well stocked kitchen and all the amenities we needed and more. We felt safe and secluded, close enough to the bustle of Guiones. The road near the house was in bad shape, but we learned how to best maneuver to avoid potholes. Another plus of the location besides its proximity to Playa Pelada, was that it was close to the excursions like zip lining, paddleboading, as well as excellent restaurants like La Luna and El Chivo.

        Great Location!

We had a wonderful time at Casa Kela! When we first arrived, we met up with Angela, our guest host. We met her at a local restaurant and followed her to the property. She showed us around the property to get better acquainted with it. She was very friendly and very flexible in meeting us for both the check in and check out process. The house itself is in a quieter and more private area of Playa Pelada which we appreciated. The house had more than enough space for all 5 of us (2 adults and 3 older children). The rooms were comfortable and there was an air conditioner in each bedroom and also the living area. We spent our days exploring the different areas around Nosara or at Playa Pelada and Playa Guiones. The late afternoons and evenings were spent by the pool and outside living area. Even though we had a rental car, it was only about an 8 minute walk to the beach. My son and I loved walking to the beach in the afternoons. We felt very safe walking by ourselves and felt safe staying at the beach. The area around the house was safe as well. For our family, a car was a must! The car was great to have to go to go to the Super for groceries. There were a couple of mini supers/bodegas close by and well as restaurants but for our 10 day stay we chose to buy groceries and eat at Casa Kela. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed for cooking. It even had an outside grill! Since we traveled to Costa Rica with just our backpacks, the washer and clothes dryer were a must for our family. The WiFi worked great. Loved the outdoor shower with warm and cold water settings and of course the swimming pool was awesome. Only the outside area by the pool is close to the neighbors but it was not a problem at all. If you are lucky like us, you will be able to see a family of about 8 monkeys in the tree while you’re swimming in the pool. For a more open feel, I would sit outside by the front door and drink my coffee. There is a field/lot across the street with a sweet horse and a big open space on the other side of the house as well. My husband surfed in the mornings and evenings. He usually parked at Playa Pelada and depending on the tide, he would either surf at Pelada or walk through the pathway to Playa Guiones and surf there. I cannot say enough good things about this property. Thank you Laura for sharing your home with us! And also Thank you to Angela for being a great guest host. We hope to be back at your home for a longer stay next summer!!

          Relaxing week in Nosara

This was a very pleasant week for us. It is fairly rural so there is a welcome laid back pace. The beach is a few turns away from the place with some very good restaurants. All in all, a very good set of days. Pura Vida!
