The location was wonderful and close to so many things. The staff was very pleasant. However, the room left much to be desired. The first day, there must have been an issue with the toilet because our whole room smelled like a sewer. I suspect the staff was aware of the issue because there was an aerosol fragrance can right outside our door when we checked in. Also, the beds filled up almost the entire space in the room. We had nowhere to put luggage and had to climb over things just to get to the bathroom and into our beds. I wouldn't recommend anyone stay in this room if you have more than two people even if the reservation says the room fits four. Another issue we had was that someone put some kind of cap in the drain of the shower and so when I turned on the shower water (which has high pressure), it filled up the bottom of the shower and started flooding the floor. Once I took the cap out, it drained fine and we didn't have any issues. I hate to give a poor review because the staff was great, the building is nice, and it's in a good area. But, please don't expect a really nice room.

A fairly small room at a reasonable price in Notting Hill. What's not to like. The staff were friendly. The room was clean as was the bathroom. There was a small range of toiletries available. Tea /coffee facilities also available.

Went to watch the football and used this hotel as a base. Ideal for Notting Hill gate tube. Stunning buildings nearby and Kensington Palace well worth a stop. Staff friendly and helpful. Room was small but we had no issues. Beds were comfy and had a great sleep. Even kept hold of our bags for us while.we explored on day 2. Give it a try and worth a go as a solid reliable London base. Just tucked off main road but noise not an issue either. Fab!

As described by others, the hotel could do with some TLC and the rooms seen are small. But they were clean, the staff were friendly, quiet, in a good location for underground and shops. So for London / the price bracket is good and fine for a night or two. I'd go again.

I booked a single room and wasn’t expecting much but omg the room was very small, the size of a double bed at most so I had the single bed and the same space again to move around in. The room was cleaning and the bedding was fresh, the bed however was very uncomfortable. Overall it was nice and the staff were very polite and helpful, I would stay there again just maybe not in the single room

Good location no frills hotel
Pros Location many subway stations and bus stops within a 5 minutes walk. Also restaurants, coffee shops and supermarkets. Rooms of decent size for two people with only carry on baggage. Electric kettle, cups, tea and coffee Room service every day. Friendly personnel. Shower water with good pressure and temperature. Cons If you have heavy luggage it can be challenging to climb the stairs they are steep and narrow. Also if you are in less than optimal mobility condition and you get a 3rd or 4rd floor room you will have to take your time to reach it. The shower is small if you are XL size you won’t fit in it. No sound proofing Conclusion: you get a fair deal price wise, but take into consideration that there are some shortfalls.

Hope for a quiet a couple above.
The service was good, polite & friendly & welcoming. the room is outdated and furniture battered but nothing white paint and new furniture won’t fix. . Location is perfect, beds are comfy and had we stayed one night it would have had a good rating .. but 2nd night the room above shouted all night and not family friendly .. had to have an awkward conversation with my 10yo about the birds and the bees .. and no matter how many times we complained they were allowed to continue and should have been asked to leave if they continued. If you are a family stay away .. we suspect it is a common occurrence in this hotel.

Due to a cancelled flight we unexpectedly needed a hotel room and we were lucky to find one at Notting Hill Gate. The staff is very friendly, the rooms are clean and the hotel is located in a quiet street, close to the subway, the park, restaurants and shops. This hotel is not a super fancy choice with alot of extras, but if you're looking for a simple good place to sleep with wifi & hot showers, it's perfect. We felt very comfortable and welcome!
