Nice hotel in a tranquil locationPosted Mar 8, 2018
Pros: Clean, well lit, a comfortable bar area and good leasure facilities
Cons: TV - news from London in Nottingham?
A last minute decision to stay over in the area. Plenty of parking spaces and a secure car park is always a big plus for me.

It is what it is.Posted Feb 27, 2018
Location: Great selection of restaurants in Eastwood. Specially recommend the Grand Siam Thai restaurant.
This is a big hotel with alot of conference facilities. From their website it looks like a georgian house hotel, well that's part of it but attached are ALOT of rooms and conference facilities. So you have company meetings/weddings etc so quite and relaxed it isn't. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the breakfast is as you would expect from this type of hotel.

Easy to reach from M1Posted Feb 25, 2018
Stayed here on journey to North of England, a typical conference hotel but comfortable-nothing outstanding but nothing bad either. Would recommend as a stop over hotel.

Nice looking front - shame about the restPosted Feb 20, 2018
Pros: The grounds were lovely (although it was cold, windy and rainy). The old hall looked good, but this wasn't residential. The wifi worked ok.
Cons: Front of house, the rooms, beds, TV service, food, room service choice and restaurant opening times
Location: Only one night - not enough time to find out.
The check-in procedure was poor - a long line of people attended by a single member of staff who made no overt attempt to accelerate the process. When I got to the front my online booking hadn't happened, It was then that I noticed the sign that stated something similar to 'Due to system upgrades, the system doesn't work' (see attached photo). The reception hall was cold and draughty. Not a nice place to wait. Eventually I was booked in... Once in my room (located what seemed like 250 meters down corridors better suited to a former Polytechnic's student halls of residence) I found a tired, scruffy room. It was cold. The bed was alternately soft and lumpy. Very uncomfortable. The TV was really poor - 8 or so analogue channels delivered through a static-hiss of a snowstorm. Really poor. The room service menu was extremely limited - so I went to eat when the restaurant opened at 7 (7? are you kidding me?). I was told that I'd have to wait until 8:30.. so I went to the bar and ordered a beer. Very nice. Then I ordered a burger at the bar (best thing available). Not very nice. Went to bed. Tired and bored. Breakfast didn't START until 7! When I'm away from home on business I'm at my desk at 7! Ate breakfast (not bad actually - best bit of the stay TBH). Check out was mercifully quick. I drove away thinking "not going there again". Shame really, because it looks great from certain angles.

Convenient for NottinghamPosted Feb 10, 2018
Hotel looks great and the grounds are lovely, however room are very dark and most are a considerable walk from reception and bar/restaurant. Screaming children running around the bar at 8pm was not conducive to quiet evening drink and restaurant menu quite limited. Lamps in the room were switched off at the wall so had to move bedside tables to use them.

Another good visit to this hotelPosted Jan 15, 2018
Pleasant hotel on the edge of Eastwood. Good indoor swimming pool. Good breakfast except for coffee (from a machine). Helpful friendly staff. Dinner menu limited but adequate for a short stay. Have used the hotel before and will do so again.

Meal was terriblePosted Jan 14, 2018
A group of nurse went for our christmas meal. The starters were all cold. The main course then took an hout to arrive. We finally got salt and pepper on the tables by the time the sweet was being served. The food quality was barely passable. We were stuck rigjt out the way down a corridor miles from the bar. After we complained they provided us with free bottoles of wine on the tables and then beer later. The dutyanager came to talk to us. The impression we got was that the booking team had oversubsvribed the available space and pur group and another were sent to an annex. The staff did try their best but we were miles from the kitchens or any pf thebother facilities in a room normally used for conferences

Its got everythingPosted Dec 16, 2017 on Hotels
It was easy to find, large car park, the room was larger than a city hotel, fabulous grounds to wander around. More important was the food breakfast was very good with everything you could possibly want even porridge. Evening meals were very well presented, very tasty and the staff so good and helpful. A very large hotel that caters for meetings etc so lots of rooms, also a gym and pool !!!! We will go there again in the future. Lots to see and very near to nottingham, park and ride close by so no problems parking in Nottingham
