4* Hotel close to motorway

Pros: The rooms are spacious and well equipped, The bathrooms have both baths and showers. The staff are very good and the breakfasts to suits EVERY taste.
Cons: The bathrooms need toilet brushes. The wardroom space is limited. The electronic door keys don't hold their details.
Location: within a couple of moles of the M1 Jct, 26. Great places to dine out within a few miles.
This is a lovely hotel for all occasions. Relaxing in the reception with a drink with friends, business meeting/conference, weddings or parties, romantic rendezvous or simply an overnight stay on your onward journey.

The Nottingham Belfry

Pros: Very comfortable beds and pillows.
Cons: Provide a fridge in the room. Mobile reception in the lower ground bedroom we were in was very poor.
A reasonably priced, comfortable hotel chosen as we were visiting friends in the area. We didn't use the leisure facilities as we just wanted somewhere to lay our heads. We did have an evening meal in the Lawrence restaurant and that was very nice.

Helpful front desk staff. Toilet seat broken & shower doors loose on tracks. Magazines & stand found INSIDE duvet cover!! Breakfast very ordinary.

would have been nice to have a later check out. around 2pm! we only got to the hotel at 4am due problems with our original booking with a different hotel. were not able to get a full night sleep.

Friendly and welcoming staff, able to check in early at 12.00. Although the location wasn't perfect (4miles from the city) the receptionist phoned a taxi for us at a reasonable rate. Being able to use the spa facilities for free was an added bonus.

arrived early evening to find that a dinner event was on! oh dear!! mentioned this to reception as planned to eat in the hotel due to the location being miles from anywhere else to eat. she said that the kitchens were all geared up and I should be fine. hmm well wend down to dinner and the guest dining wasn't busy. anyway service was excellent and nice food was presented breakfast was also good

3-star hotel

According to my teenage child, 'they can do a lot better. Everything was nice apart from the actual rooms'. Bugs were found crawling everywhere. Beds were badly made and had only a single sheet. In one of the rooms, there was no bedspread. Rooms were dusty, water left in kettle from the previous occupant. On one of the days, the housekeeper turned up at 5pm to clean the room! I rang reception from the room but got no response - it was easier to walk there to get a response. Being a 4-star hotel, the fact that there were no sofas or fridges was disappointing. The swimming pool was too small for the size of the hotel. There was no telephone reception till we left the hotel area (3 - it was like we were out of civilization. Room lighting was in awkward places. The reception area/breakfast was good, staff were polite. Overall, the experience was disappointing so I definitely will not be going back there unless I want to be unreachable.

sorry to read that you did not enjoy your stay with us. The only rooms at the hotel - as per most of the other local four star hotels - that have sofa's in them are upgraded rooms such as Suites. At our hotel we have fridges in all of the upgraded rooms and Suites all have sofa's and separate lounges. I am sorry to read that you encountered some housekeeping issues - this will be raised with the manager of the department so that any necessary retraining can taken place
