It is an excellent place to relax and enjoy the sun.Large rooms with great balconies. The pool was too warm, but excellent size. They need to improve the food selection, specially the breakfast. More activities for the kids, there were none. The staff were excellent. The room furniture is not kids friendly and too much furniture.

Excellent food, staff and grounds. We would give room comfort a 5 except for the fact that the tub/shower was very slippery with a high step to access. We would ask for a room with a walk in shower in the future.

My husband and I stayed at the Hardrock Hotel in Puerto Vallarta, and I highly recommend this location. The property is beautifully kept and we really enjoyed the ocean view. The staff are all very friendly. I was most impressed with the service we received from the Frida restaurant. If you are looking for authentic Mexican food then this is your place. They have a great selection of exquisitely prepared meals. The service was so exceptional that we ended up eating there all most our entire stay. Juan the manager made us feel like royalty, he always greeted us by name and made sure that we were taken care of. Not only was the service extraordinary but you get to enjoy your meal with amazing ocean views. We always left Frida with full happy bellies followed by a long sunset walk on the beach. We loved our stay. I would go back just to eat at Fridas it was so good.

Only thing I didnt like is that they require credit card and block like $700.00 and then once you check out of hotel they make you pay with same Credit card and add additinal charges but then once room is checked out you have to wait for you money to be released from Credit card.

This is our 16th or 17th visit to the Samba Vallarta. It is a smaller hotel which allows you to meet and get to know other guests. Because of its size you never far away from anything.
Over the years some of the people we have met have become good friends and we get together yearly at the Samba.
The Samba have the best staff we have ever encountered at any resort. They all know your name ,your preferences and go out of their way to make you feel welcome.
We enjoy the food ,whether it is in the buffet or the ala carte and we can always find some thing we like.
The beach is great and the Samba is one of the few hotels in the area with palapas on the beach.
We returned yesterday and are already planning our next trip.

My sister and I were there for couple of days. We had a great time. It was safe and locals were really nice. The resort included everything we wanted. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. It was about 30 mins from downtown Puerto Vallarta. This was one of my best mini vacations I had this year so far.

"The Resort Facilities are great, Food not so much "
This was our 3rd time staying at the Marival Suites and Resorts with our family and friends. Many of the rooms have been remodeled since our last stay in 2012, ours had not been. We were in a separate building from our friends and our room was the same as before and definitely still smelt musty (from the humidity) so I would recommend bringing an air freshener of some sort. The beds were comfortable.
The food options were so disappointing this time, our favorite restaurant; the Mexican one, was closed. It was difficult to make reservations for all of us. The buffet food was less than great. We actually ended up leaving the resort for a couple of nights in an attempt to get better food which is disappointing when you're staying at an all inclusive resort.
We will probably try a new place next visit.
