The surroundings of the complex is very beautiful. You felt very relaxed and the rooms were all traditional Mexican style. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. We will definitely return next year.

This was a very nice hotel. Beautiful rooms. Great poolside. I did not like the food at all. I felt like they were very understaffed. If you want to order food it will take at least 45 minutes to an hour until they bought the food. We had an issue with housekeeping one time in which they forgot to clean the bathrooms.

This is my first review here but decided it was worth a few minutes of my time. We just got back from a great anniversary getaway at the Riu Palace and had a great time there. While the facilities and the price were really good, it was the awesome service by the staff who made this an excellent trip for us. They were friendly, helpful, courteous and yet gave us space to just be there to enjoy ourselves.
Here are a few things I would tell my friends if they were going to this resort:
- It was great during a "non-family" week, when most kids are in school. Plenty of beach & pool seating, and a bit quieter.
- Take a bunch of $1 bills for tipping; we were happy to tip for such great service, and the couple extra dollars is really helpful to them.
- Do some research and decide what tours you'd like to take before you come. They all sound great when you read a brochure; reviews can be more helpful. We did a Los Arcos snorkeling and beach BBQ catamaran excursion which was great. Just enough snorkeling, relaxing time on the smaller boat, and a great late lunch.
- Manage your expectations. This was not a 5-star resort but it felt like it was to us. If you're looking for the best of the best, keep looking, but the staff at this beautiful place made it comfortable, special, and fun for us. This isn't a negative comment; just a perspective.
- The taxi service at the airport was great; cheaper than a shuttle and just as good. (Airport ATMs in the hallway were fine, too.)

Lovely pool area and proximity to beach is great. Very friendly staff - food good to excellent. Breakfast / Lunch can get a bit samey as to what you find yourself eating at the Buffets. Ciao & Zen in particular had great menus and service, it's great to be able to order as much as you like and not worry about the bill. Be careful when it comes to the booking activities side of things as there is a timeshare element - even at the hotel endorsed booking area in the lobby. Comfy beds and a good sleep (given nobody chooses to party in your lobby!)

Except for the 100% humidity and the hundred degree weather it was a wonderful visit to the north end of Puerto Vallarta. The staff was extremely friendlyand the hotel is lovely I don't think I would go back in late August but I would definitely try it in January

This place was great. The hotel staff were excellent and always very friendly. The kids loved the water slides and boogie boards. The only thing I would stay away from is the time share presentation, it took way longer than quoted and we found better deals on a day cruise, a razor tour and dolphins swim in town. Still a very excellent trip and all iclusive package was well worth it.

Very nice family hotel. The hotel staff was great! Food was great even though they didn't have many restaurants. The hotel is quite far from downtown so if you want to stay on a central area this is not the place for you. Great place to relax (except for all the children)?but overall a great experience.

The hotel is beautiful. The ocean view room I had booked was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The staff was very accommodating. Not once was my fiancé and I hassled by a timeshare representative. Food was delicious especially the Portofino restaurant.
