Fantastic beachfront resort with outstanding staff

Pros: Lagoon access rooms are great Private villas are amazing - secluded, romantic setting and just lovely Staff are fantastic
Cons: When staff are allocating rooms, possibly consider the room against the guess (we were allocated a pool access room at the shallowest part)
This is our second time staying at the Melia in Bali. We were slightly disappointed with our room this time around - we booked the premium lagoon access room, but the location of our room was at the shallowest end of the pool, so we walked directly into thigh high water, and had to swim past other rooms to get to any depth. This type of room would have been perfect for a family with young children, but not great for a couple. The room location was also very noisy - and not exactly the romantic experience that we'd had last time (where our room was much more private and the pool access much better). In saying that, I'm sure they would have moved us if we asked, but instead we upgraded to the private villa for the final few nights. The private villa is amazing - beautiful location, lovely private pool and we had a lovely last few nights. Wifi in the villas is a bit patchy though. The staff were amazing - friendly, and only too willing to help and make sure your stay is a great one. Overall this is a great resort - highly recommended!

Nice hotel close to beach

Overall we really enjoyed this hotel. Our main issue was with the service, especially during dinner. When we were at the bar or beach we would always have to ask for drinks. At dinner we typically had to quickly order our dinner with drinks, otherwise it took forever to order. After we received dinner, we never were asked if we needed additional drinks. It also took a long time to get our check. We feel we didn’t get our moneys worth for all inclusive because service wasn’t not the best. Breakfast service was great and the buffet was excellent. The food and dinner specifically at El Patio was great, service was ok. We waited for ever at the Spanish restaurant and left because we got no services. Aside from food and beverage service, we truly enjoyed our honeymoon stay. The grounds were beautiful and super peaceful.

Great hotel, on the beach front.

Pros: Everyone was so helpful. As noted above.
Cons: Food could be better priced, but just went to the local shopping Center, ‘Bali Collections’, which had many restaurants and clothing outlets.
Location: We used the guide that we booked the private car hire. Decent cost for activities, to many to mention here but book these when you get there.
The whole hotel was great. Staff couldn’t do enough for you. My wife went to open the door after breakfast, and 3 staff members all rushed to open it for her. That was just 1 example of many, they could do enough for us. Another nice touch was, that I some serve sunburn on my ankle and had to see the doctor on sight, who told me to keep off it and dry for 2 days. The hotel the next morning called the room and asked if I want some breakfast bringing to the room (as we had already had this included). It would have been extra to have it brought to the room but we’re happy to wave this charge for the next 2 mornings. Also later that day when we got back to the room, there was a get well soon card in the room. The pool was always clean and the grounds were always tended to everyday, including the beach of seaweed because of the tides. The hotel food though is so overpriced. 1M Rp about £55 - £60 for 1 starter and 2 main courses, 1 wine, beer and coke. Go to the local ‘Bali Collection’ Center about 5 min walk. The next night at a restaurant their it was 200K Rp, about £11. Rest of the holiday it was about 200K - 450K. With the odd glass of wine with some meals, as still expensive. We or rather she decided to get a box of the local white wine for about 330 Rp, about £20, and took about to the hotel.

Too many things to mention. Beautiful dining room, lovely groups Spanish mgmt appesrs to derive max profit from remaining life of property.

The room had a musty smell and I had to wash everything on my return, all the staff were very sweet and couldn't do enough for us

Excellent relaxing environment for families

Great kids' club and staff - very caring and accommodating. Good pool - decent size. Good restaurants. Great location and access to the beach. Good activities organised daily.

Nice hotel, lovely gardens and right on the beach

Location: Nice location but not much to do nearby, is really a resort to lay by the pool and relax
Nice experience only let down was the shower is in the bath and what you pay for accommodation I would expect a nicer bathroom. Found it very expensive in Nusa Dua.
