“Nightmarish experience. I was traveling with a friend who wanted his own room. We booked this hotel at the last minute as it was close to the NP HQs. We arrived at 7 pm to find no front desk, just a bar area that was manned by a young lady who stated that we couldn’t stay as the owner had not been paid. Then the owner called stating that it was late so we could stay and that payment could be discussed in the morning. The hotel did not have wifi as advertised, there was no running or hot water……

“The lodge does not actually exist. We arrived at the building, and the outside matched the pictures. However there was no sign and no staff at the place. With the assistance of some helpful neighbours from the street, we learned that it was available for long term rental. A supervisor (who arrived on bike after being called by one of the neighbours) opened the gates so that we could see the “lodge”. It was completely empty and bereft of any furniture). There was no response from the property……

“The staff at My Hill Eco Lodge made a 1-week work trip a delight. The rooms are large and simply but perfectly outfitted. The restaurant servers could not have been sweeter or more helpful. (Portions are big! Request Rwandan food if you're curious, especially the local amaranth greens.) The only note: It is indeed on a hill, so not for the faint of heart — or heavy packers.”

“The staff was the best part. They were so accommodating and friendly. The garden was also beautiful and the food was amazing. Highly recommend. ”

“Amazing service, charming rooms, fantastic food. I went there after a gorilla trek and before hiking up Bisoke and they were fantastic. They helped arrange transport as well. Will absolutely be staying here again if I'm back in Musanze.”

“The property is well maintained and conveniently located just a short walk from the Musanze bus terminal. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful. The food prepared by the guest house cook was excellent! Our only concern was the lack of hot water in the shower, but that may have been due to the fact that we didn't know to plug in the water heater.”

“This property is falsely advertised. The location listed on Expedia is not accurate, and when I arrived, it was nowhere near where it was supposed to be. I was forced to book another hotel last-minute. That alone would have been manageable, but the real issue is that the property provided no way to resolve the situation. They never answered their phone, ignored messages, and even when Expedia tried to reach them directly, there was no response. As a result, I was unable to cancel and lost over……
