We don’t usually do reviews but I feel compelled to do one on this resort. My wife and I had saved for quite a long time for this vacation only to have it spoiled by hidden fees, sub par parking arrangements, a useless coffee maker and very overpriced tasteless food! But with that being said housekeeping was always on point and we were close to the ocean.

Great lobby and Morimoti restaurant are great. Good location. Rooms were a little disappointing , little being the key word here. Carpet in the halls were worn out and not vacuumed once during our 4 day stay. The pot smoke coming from room 1622 every morning and night was a real bummer, could not go out on the balcony because of tje heavy stench of weed. Staff notified 3 days in a row with no corrective action taken.

Overall great stay - excellent location, the staff is fantastic and friendly and provides great service. Property was clean, quiet and super convenient. Only negative was the $50 per day parking (only a couple $ cheaper to self park) and the unfortunate enormous gash on the side of our rental car from the valets that we are now trying to resolve with the rental car company. Other than that, we would absolutely stay here again.

The location is great, crossing the street to the beach. We spent seven nights and in the last two days for house keeping we had to ask them for new towels and pick up the trash from the room. The old towels and the trash were not picked up.

The property is beautiful (amazing lobby, huge aquarium, the deck of the swimming pool is wonderful with those big sofas and firepits). The place is really close to Waikiki Beach. But the bad side of our stay was at the early beginning: we had a very bad experience arriving at the hotel after 10 hours in a plane (from Washington): they have sent to me an email (that I was unable to read during the flight) telling me that my reservation was cancelled because of a shutdown of the computer system. At the reception, they asked if I booked directly with us; I said by Expedia (as I use to do). They proposed to me a rebooking in one of their owned hotels but it was far from the beach or with less stars (3). They proposed also that I found another hotel by myself and they would reimburse me. My husband and myself were really disappointed, angry and tired. We found another hotel near the beach and at one block from the Alohilani: the Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort and Spa, but we had to add around $1.400 for our stay. We asked that they pay for the difference and they refused. So we told them that they had to find a solution by themselves and will do nothing more, just wait at the front desk. At that time, someone else came and took us to another desk (far from the front desk). And finally and easily, he gave us a room. I definitely think that if the stay wasn't booked directly with them, they proposed another hotel to the guests...

Unfortunately, the hotel's computers were down for the entire time I was there, which was 5 days. Despite my request for a quiet room, I was put in the worst room possible with adjoining doors and a very loud group of guests staying there. Furthermore, the cleaning crew's storage was on the other side of my room, with people going in and out of it all day long beginning very early in the morning. When I requested to be moved, the management took my name and phone number to contact me when they located another room for me. Neither of those things happened, they didn't even bother to contact me to let me know that they had tried, but had not been successful. Due to my frequent travels to Hawaii for work, this hotel will not be on my list of places to stay in the future.

The property was beautiful. Everything we hoped for and more. I would definitely stay here again. Service was great. Dandan the housekeeping manager went out of her way to make sure we were well looked after. The Swell pool bar had great dj’s, great food and cocktails. The gym had plenty of machines and free weights. The room was impeccable. The view was majestic, the location was ideal to walk to restaurants and shopping. Can’t say enough about how great our stay was.

I had two unpleasant and unprofessional experience with two different staff members in the 4 nights there. Brought it up to management and their follow thru was horrible. I will never stay at this property again because of it and don’t recommend it to anyone as there are plenty better options around.

The property is great. We loved that there are restaurants and stores in the hotel. We have kids so it was great to walk to the ABC store to grab milk. The kids loved the fish tank. We wish there were more kids activities aside from the pool.
