Please don’t book here. Our room was so dirty and the mattress was literally on the floor. It’s weird that they send you to a random room to check in. There’s better out there!

The staff were all totally amazing. The property needs a total update. stayed in room 508. patio door would not lock. the supervisor took immediate action and helped with a solution. again the staff was amazing but owners of property need to invest in some much needed renovation

Amazing Location, half a block from the beach.
The hotel could not be in a better location. Half block from the beach, near everything restaurants, mall, bars, downtown. The price we got is unbeatable for the location. The property itself is a little outdated, could use some improvements but overall is great for sleeping as we stay out all day. My room had a full kitchen with stove, microwave, fridge and full kitchenware. Depending on how you book you could book with Waikiki Grand Hotel (building name) or could be with Castle Resorts (like a management co.) So from what i understood if you book with Castle Resorts (my case) most units a privately-owned and each individual owner does what they want as far as updates in the unit my unit wasnt too bad the only complaint was the mattress too old and hard on your back but after the first night you get used to it. It is a little weird how they operate so dont judge the book before you "read". So you register at the front desk as you normally would but if you booked with Castle Resort you have to go to a room in the 5th floor felt a little sketchy and do a real check in there, room is jam packed with hotels supplies, almost like a hoarder, but once you past that you will be ok. Other thing there is no room service and if you need supplies you have to go to the 5th floor room yourself to get it. And the cleaning fee you pay at check in is only for the checkout cleaning, does not include room service.

Location is great. But don’t expect much else.
The hotel room felt like it was someone’s old room. The sheets you sleep in feel like someone’s old sheets. The blanket was gross looking. The room itself was cool. There is no way to turn off the TV. The power button doesn’t do what you think it’s supposed to do. There is no cleaning service while you are there. I was there over a week and the room did not get cleaned once. I could tell by the build up of sand you end up with in your room. I tried to keep it maintained but you’re at the beach all the time it’s impossible. But you will be charged a cleaning fee, although the cleaning is clearly not to make your stay more comfortable. Oh and I hope you don’t like sleep. Because although this is of no fault of the hotel, it is what it is. There are a few roosters that hang out at the park across the street. They crow when it’s dark basically. Not at sun rise. They crow all the time. The doors can muffle the sound slightly, but you will be hearing them.

I’ve been to Honolulu many times. This was my first stay at this hotel. It’s suitable as a place to sleep and shower. The location, in my opinion, is great. I did feel duped by the “cleaning fee”. I would not stay here a second time, but it served its purpose for my trip to Honolulu. The staff was friendly also.

Great location. Room needed carpet cleaned or replaced. Mattress on bed was very soft and uncomfortable, needs replaced. Wood molding trim inside the bathroom door damaged, needing replaced or repaired. For the price point and location of the condo the room was actually great, just in need of maintenance.

The room was dirty, yet they charge me $50 to clean. Stains on the wall, baseboards are dirty, bed headboard loose and bangs the wall, toilet loose from the floor, "cleaning lady" parked in my spot that I was paying for, keypad door locked me out twice. Furniture is old and stained. Only allowed to switch towels every other day. Dark hallways. I stayed one night and was charged $300; I could have stayed at a much nicer place for that price. I was scheduled to stay there one week; I checked out and moved to a much nicer place for less money: The manager never returned my call to discuss the $50 cleaning charge. Hotel LaCroix. Not worth the price at all. Stay elsewhere. Buyer beware. This was room 904.

The World now
Well I'm late doing this but hear goes on our first day we had a bomb threat,16 police vehicals, vest's, door buster, and AR type rifles. That six cops showed up for a screaming lady and her boy friend. There's also a group of young people riding up and down the st. usually after 9:00pm electric bike, croch rockets and mopeds doing willies fasing up and down. But it's a beautiful area thats being taken. Also lots of homless and fighting in the park cops for a third time.

The room could be best described as a hole. The box spring and mattress was on the floor and had no bed frame. The room had a 2 and 1/2 foot pillar in the middle of the room. The table, an old weathered outside table and two Miss matched chairs looked like rodents had lived in them. It was so bad I couldn’t stay one night there. Thanks to Expedia they moved me. I wouldn’t recommend the place to my worst enemy

So from the rating, I don’t want you to get the impression that I didn’t enjoy my stay, as I actually did. There was a faulty plug in the room, along with insects and other unpleasantries that I don’t need to get into. I will say that whomever does hiring for your organization is top drawer and you have amazing staff who are quite friendly and accommodating. I realize the hotel is in a transitional period right now, so please don’t take this personally, I just felt that I should be forthright in my opinion.

They require you to remove your own trash while charging a 'cleaning' fee, yet my unit did not recieve any sort of housekeeping over the course of 5days. Not even clean towels. A roach was seen scurrying across the floor as well I left my luggage outside upon returning home to prevent unwanted guest.

Before you read this review understand it is written from a perspective of my personal needs and quirks and despite all the negatives I would stay here again. It is hard to get peace and quiet in Waikiki but the Waikiki Grand which overlooks Kapiolani Park and has unparalled views of Diamond Head offers that. It is out of the way of the bustle of Waikiki and the Cathedral of shopping, Kalakaua Avenue. Do not expect opulence or luxury. The rooms as are offered by Castle are utilitarian and spartan, bring your own power bar and extension cord as the outlets are inconveniently. The pictures of the "kitchenette" are downright misleading and decietful. But yet understanding all this i would stay there again.

I loved the location of the property. It was in great walking distance to everything we wanted to do. The hotel room itself sucked they never cleaned. We had two rooms and had to pay close to 400 dollars for a cleaning fee and no one ever cleaned we had to get new towels the whole time. We were allowed 1 towel for 2 days and that was not enough for 2 people especially for tourists going to the beach everyday. I loved the burger place that was in the hotel it was affordable compared to everything else that was around.

Wonderful people and the best view on the island, of that I am sure. There is no daily or weekly cleaning service--so we had the same sheets and towels all week long which was different than I'm used to when staying at a hotel, and you have to dump your own garbage which wasn't a huge deal, but just a little surprise. The manager was wonderful, and the front desk staff amazing when I had a driver that started sending me gross body pics unsolicited. Gross. They made sure he wouldn't have access to my room which was a relief. So gross. Rent a car. Don't use the drivers. Don't give anyone your private number to pick you up to go anywhere. seriously. gross. the hotel was wonderful though really great!

Overall a great and easy stay. Property manager was great and friendly and gave us a discount. Lots of food close by and ABC stores are everywhere. The walk to the beach takes very little time. Only complaint is the hotel needs black out curtains. It’s like the middle of the day in the middle of the night.

We loved our stay. The property was great and was so convenient to everything else in Waikiki. Only issue was the noise at night coming from the street, but not much of a hassle. Room was nice with lots of amenities and service was good.

My room was small. The restroom was right next door to the kitchen and had a doggy door type vent so if i used the restroom, the smell would be in the kitchen. We didnt have an iron, so we had to borrower one from another room. The sheets had marker stains. The hotel is outdated. The pool was under construction.

First, I booked my hotel via expedia but in actuality it was with a horrible 2rd party management company who along with residents and the hotel own property in that building. BUYERS BEWARE!!! The pictures on the expedia website are not from where i stayed!!! This is no Castle is a dump!! its old , unclean and the management company's own offices in room 512 is a hoarders paradise. Im warning you here. The area is convenient to the beach but there is a lot of homless people around. The Hotel windows are not sound proff so you hear everything thats going on in the ally. The first night there was this truck delivering something it literally backe up for 10 min with a bipping back nose at 4:30am . The second night there was a guy really mad at a girl and he was swearing up a storm and speed up in his car all down the ally at 5am. Third night , im not sure who was doing construction at 530am. The last night the trash truck came by at 530am and woke us up. Im happy we only used the room to sleep in and we where out all day until 10pm. Also, i paid for the parking for 4 night like $125.65 the parking in the basement is small and crammed my car was a chevy spark and i was tired of going in an out. Also, i was asked to please take out the trash when i checked out..lol but i paid a resort fee and taxes of $246.54 which was not worth it !!! Soooo very disappointed!!!! My daughter wanted to sleep in the car 😪

We were upgraded for the first part and that room was clean but road noise was awful. The second room was not noisy but the floors were filthy and mini cockroaches in the kitchen was not pleasant.

The location is fabulous, but the apartment needs an upgrade. The electrical outlets were inadequate in number & quality for modern needs. There was no desk. The coffee machine was broken. Also, the "cleaning fee" was outrageous - $171.
