Great location!

Posted Apr 20, 2017
Pros: Location! Location! LOCATION!
Cons: Wish the elevators were moving faster.
Location: Next to International Village across from Royal Hawaiian Centre. Close to trolleys and public transit that takes you to Ala Moana Mall and Ward Centre
Had a recent stay and I was pleasantly surprised. I originally wanted to stay on a beachfront property but this was just across the street and at the end of the day, it really didn't matter if I was right on the beach. Only difference, I didn't pay 3x the price! Pool area was decent and I always got a spot. Coffee at the cafe was one of the best I've ever had. Staff was nice and courteous, the housekeeping lady I saw every morning was extremely friendly and made my mornings. Location is the best close to everything and lots going on every night. I love the open markets!

Great spot just off the beach so your saving plent

Posted Apr 16, 2017
Pros: Clean rooms. One street back we still had views of the water and Diamond Head. Caffe Aroma in foyer the best in Waikiki.
Cons: Elevators a bit slow.
Location: Good location in the heart of Waikiki.
Good hotel and location. Expedia were great to deal with. Thoroughly recommend.

Great if you want to be close to the action

Posted Apr 14, 2017
Pros: Location
Cons: less fees, beds, and
Location: Plenty of high end shopping and greaaaaaat restaurants!
This hotel is right in the middle of all of the shopping and the main action. However, for me the beds weren't comfortable and they have a fee for every little thing there.. After paying for my stay, we arrive to only find that there were service fees for everyday. We downgraded our room and was charged (per night) to change from our initial booked room (in addition). Also, don't get the breakfast package unless you want either a sandwich, acai bowl or a waffle for breakfast. Your choices are really limited and definitely not worth the fee for the breakfast upgrade price. Also, make sure your hotel room is not over the pool area like ours was.. Since it was sold out we had to deal with the noise from people being in the pool every night until 9pm. Like I said if you want to be close to all of the action this is the place for you.. On a better note, the staff there was amazing as you'll find most people in Hawaii very pleasant to deal with.

Best location possible

Posted Apr 14, 2017
Just across the street from the ocean makes all the difference. The ocean front hotels we saw are packed with traffic and were not remotely private. At The Holiday Inn the pool (although small) was relaxed and enjoyable, and it's above street level making it private in comparison. And the location! Central to everything, far from nothing. It's the best placed hotel I've stayed at in Waikiki. There is even an Expedia concierge expert on site to help book or discuss events and activities you'd like to enjoy on your holiday at discounted prices. The price was nice, the view was great, and the staff were helpful and friendly. We had a very late return flight out and although check out is at noon, they have the option to lock up your luggage for the day...free of charge. It's a 3 star hotel but is more 4 star in nature.

Excellent 39th wedding anniversary experience!

Posted Apr 11, 2017
Pros: Everything except for the breakfast.
Cons: Explain what is included with the breakfast if customer asks for breakfast included during reservation.
Location: Very convenient for shopping, the beach and eating places; if I knew that there's a lot of places to eat nearby, then I should not have paid for break
Everything was excellent except for the paid 3 breakfasts; there were not many choices; I had to pay on the 3rd day for breakfast because what my husband wanted was not included in the choices. When I asked the Supervisor if I can just pay for the balance with the voucher that I had; she said she is not allowed to do it. Next time, please be more specific with what is included in the breakfast at the time of booking/reservation. I should have done that but having been travelled extensively, I did not expect that we had to make a choice for breakfast.
