close to the beach at a great price

Posted May 22, 2017
Everything was clean and just what we needed. The only thing that was disappointing was the noise. There is hotel construction next door that started early so no daytime naps. And the garbage trucks picked up behind the Hyatt everyday at 4am. Not the hotels fault but definitely noticeable when you're trying to sleep!

Nice hotel close from the beach

Posted May 22, 2017
Pros: just the location
Cons: better internet connectivity, put some chair and table on the room, make some better lighting inside the room.
Location: perfect location and lots of food choices
Hotel is in very nice location, just 1 block from the beach, but that's just it. the Internet connection is really bad for almost 5 days of my stay, no table or chair on the room, no place to work while in your room. also very noisy in the morning starts at 8am due to some construction on the next building. the price is very expensive to what you get. better stay in another hotel

Terrific location! Oldish, but amazing character!

Posted May 19, 2017
Pros: The character, general feeling, friendliness, and the location plus plenty more!
Cons: The management should be careful with the very few electrical outlets that are way too loaded up with multiple plug-ins... And perhaps a telephone.
Location: Already mentioned the great location...
At first we were a little on guard with the unusual activity outside, but the front desk gave us a very pleasant, courteous welcome. The location is truly full of character and so amazingly close to the beach. Plenty of places to find food, to walk around safe, even a cute little Health Foods place 5mn away that serves delicious meals. We even went back there for breakfast!

Basic no frills, no chairs, hotel 1 block to beach

Posted May 16, 2017
The pictures are not indicative of this hotel. This is a basic, no frills hotel. Rooms are small. No chairs-tbl in room or patio. Cost is excellent if you want to save on your stay at Waikiki. Hotel provides beach towels and sand mats for a small cost. Front desk staff EXCELLENT!

Great stay for the price!!

Posted May 13, 2017
Pros: Helpful, friendly staff, clean room, comfy bed, great bar.
Location: Location is one block from beach & main Waikiki strip.
This place was a great deal. The hotel staff was wonderful and very helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. The hotel is one block back from the beach and the main strip of Waikiki shops. The only bad thing I can say is that my room faced the street and sometimes it was loud when the large tour buses idled. Also note that this is not luxury accommodations, but it was clean, comfortable, great staff, nice lobby, and also...great hotel bar!! Wang Chung's is a super fun karaoke bar downstairs!

Great location

Posted May 11, 2017
Great spot, very close to the beach, food and shops. Bed was comfortable. Across the road is the Hyatt where you can book activities. Staff were helpful. Wifi was unreliable and sometimes couldn't get on at all, needed to use roaming or go across the road and use the Hyatt free wifi to contact family/look up where we were going that day. Only 1 small mirror in the whole room (two girls Sharing one little mirror?) and one wall was made entirely of glass shutters that didn't keep any noise out. Which was unfortunate due to the construction directly outside our room, waking us up at 6:30am 2 out of 4 mornings. Air con was average.

No frills

Posted May 8, 2017
This hotel is excellent for people on a buget but who prefer to be in the centre of the strip. You are a block from the beach and have access to 2 of the major bus stops. The hotel provides floaties for the beach at first come first serve. They also provide beach towels. The pillows are too flat and the windows let in a lot of noise because they aren't actually windows, they are pretty much only shutters. For this reason the AC needs to be cranked all time or your room heats up like crazy. Not very energy saving. We enjoyed our stay but I think the extra amenities charge is way too much. You get the Internet (which disconnected a lot), access to a news paper (which are in the lobby not delivered to your room), coffee in the lobby (no breakfast items such as bananas or granola bars or even a bagel), floaties for the beach (which look like they aren't purchased by the hotel but are left from previous guests, we left ours and I'm sure that they ended up in their collection), a beach towel, and lots of channels on the tv (who watches a ton of tv while vacationing in Hawaii?). I don't believe all of that is worth $80 USD per week. The hotel staff are extremely friendly and very helpful. Overall I would definitely stay here again, you can't beat the price but you have to expect that it won't be like a high end hotel. It's also very clean.

Decent Room for the Price

Posted May 8, 2017
The room was comfortable, especially for the price, conveniently located near the beach and several other attractions, decent choice of food nearby. Wasn't expensive and the staff were friendly and helpful. My biggest issue was that the room was noisy, so it was a bit difficult to get to sleep but compared to the two other hotels I stayed at in the Waikiki, it wasn't really any worse in this regard. The internet could be a bit slow in connecting but once it was, I didn't have any problems using it. All in all, a pleasant stay, would recommend for anyone traveling on a budget but don't want to stay in a hostel.
