"Great cottage next to the ocean"
Our stay at turtle bay was nice, but not great. We had to wait a long time for our room to be ready. At the time the room was supposed to be ready it was not. Front desk staff wasn't accommodating. I had to practically beg to get our room. We also were not give the breakfast vouchers when we checked in that came with our Expedia reservation. We had to go request them afterwards. The cottage room was beautiful, clean and spacious. The view and room was really nice. Dining in food was horrible and expensive. Breakfast buffet was good, not great. The omelettes and fresh fruit were the best thing. The pool was too crowded with lots of people that seemed not to be even staying in the resort. The water slide was the highlight of the resort for my toddler. Definitely not comparable to a 4 or 5 star hotel on the mainland.

Not great but not terrible, yet had a laid back Hawaiian vibe so we enjoyed our stay for the most part. Good location and provides basic accommodation for sleep and shower. Ok place if you don't plan on staying in the room. Cons: dusty, furniture is outdated, shower is very tiny and narrow, poor sound insulation so you can hear nose from the street with the slidea closed. Wasn't the most comfy or attractive place but offered us basic standard amenities and was the most affordable option in waikiki for mid Aug.

"Not bad for what I paid!"
I'll start off w/ WHAT AN AMAZING VIEW WE HAD. Completely facing the canal and side end of the Diamond head, & slight view of Waikiki. The surrounding area of hotel wasn't the greatest. I'd assume a little more on the ghetto side. But I wasn't expecting a 5 star hotel. I booked the cheapest I could find & of course if there was something I was un happy about, I knew I couldn't complain much. One thing to keep in mind is that there are differences between vacation suites and hotel room. A friend of mine was in town the same time and booked another room. The room was straight up from the 70s. My room looked high class compared to his. My room I believe was a vacation suite so it was a full on one bed, one full bath, full kitchen and living room suite. So to save a little money and not having to go out a lot, it was nice to cook in a few times for breakfast. Parking was actually the most upsetting thing. Didn't keep in mind that we were in the heart if downtown Honolulu. The hotel provided parking but it was an extra $25/day. We had no choice.

"Paradise Getaway"
The resort is wonderful if you want to be away from the crowds and tourists of Waikiki Beach. It is pricey, but worth it. The resort overlooks the ocean, pool, golf course, dolphin lagoon, total panoramic view. I'm sure all the rooms have great views, and the ocean view is more expensive. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. If you select the right time, the ocean is almost private for you to swim. The pool is smaller than expected, but it was mostly kids, so I suggest an ocean swim. It's safe and shallow for quite a distance, but not ideal for snorkeling which requires longer distance out into the ocean. Luckily, there weren't too many rocks or coral to step on. There are surf lessons, kayaking, and dolphin experience. It seems the dolphins were well taken care of and have plenty of the day to themselves, so it's not constant work for them which would not be good. Plumeria breakfast buffet by the water is the best! High tea is served by the lobby, and great room service. The spa treatments are expensive, but it was wonderful since you get your own private room equipped with massage table, bathroom, tub, and vanity.

"nice hotel close to the beach. "
staff very helpful except for 1 staff who did not respond and follow-up on my request to extend check out time. She was african american. Everyone else was helpful, nice and professional especially Kent. They can improve on housekeeping. It is only done every few days. We stayed 1 week and we had cleaning done 1 day only.
