nice hotel close to the beach and shopping

Posted Jan 4, 2017
Pros: loved the location and loved all of the staff. Candida - the great lady that looked after our room - was so very sweet and our room was spotless.
Cons: breakfast was included but was just O.K. would be better with just a continental breakfast. However - the pancakes were wonderful and the coffee good
Location: location was great - close to the canal for walking trail, close to the beach and grocery shopping, restaurants, and transportation.
hotel was great and close to everything in Waikiki. Shuttle service around Waikiki and to AlaMoana shopping was wonderful and this was included in the resort fee along with beach chairs and towels. All of the staff of this hotel were more than helpful and very kind at all times. We would certainly book this hotel in the future. One thing - be sure to put your fan on in the room at night and you will not hear road traffic or the bar across the street that is open until 4:00 a.m.

Good location, nice open lobby

Posted Jan 3, 2017
Pros: Nice open lobby, good location, friendly staff, microwave, kitchenette
Cons: Better coffee, better mattress for sofabed
Location: Go to International Market Place, beautiful open mall & restaurants. Food Pantry grocery store is a hop, skip & jump away...
We stayed 2 nights, the staff was friendly, and the property, though old, is well kept. Great location, walking distance to grocery store, bus stop & International Market place which is a cool place to hang out. The $25 parking fee is reasonable compared to other Waikiki properties. Breakfast was a unique experience in itself, we never had Chinese food for breakfast before! The coffee wasn't that good, but the fried rice & chowmein were good. We tried, but didn't care for some of the other asian dishes. The kids liked renting out dvd movies to watch on the PS. The mattress for the sofabed was too springy, so we used the rollaway mattress instead which was ok, but small for 2. Rooms are a little small for 4, but we didn't sped much time there, so that was not an issue. Nice to have a microwave & fridge in the kitchenette

Pros: The location was close to everything including the beach.
Cons: Total tear down
Location: Close to everything.
The hotel is old and in great need of a major renovation. It looks as if it was done perhaps 20 years ago but very basic and cheaply. The room was as small as a broom closet. The bed was pushed into the corner so only on way out with no room for a night stand. No where to place your items next to bed everything went on the floor. The lighting was poor with a single overhead light and one small corner lamp opposite the bed. The room was a corner unit with two complete walls of jalousie windows that let all the noise into the room from the lower pool area. You couldn’t open the curtains because the building behind the hotel was 10 feet away and looked directly into the room. NO privacy. The cable in the hotel was very basic. The so call resort fee is higher than most hotels and is a joke with no real amenities, It does come with breakfast but the so called eating area is so poorly laid out and old that it left one with no appetite. The total cost of the room was $153 per night and for that price sleeping on the beach would have been much nicer. I do not recommend!

close to canal.

Very old bathroom needs to be updated. No counter in there to put anything down. So everything went on the dirty floor. Could not get air conditioner to work. Glad we were only there one night.

Decent hotel 3 blocks from beach and downtown

Posted Nov 28, 2016
This staff at this hotel are excellent! The hotel itself is a little older but the bed is very comfy! There is a breakfast but it is geared towards the Asian guests, only had pancakes. Also, wish it would be until 10 am instead of 9. Location is good although noisy if on the road side due to many sirens throughout the night. The package deal for flight and hotel was really good, can't complain!!
