Great experience by veteran Oa'hu vacationers

Posted Aug 27, 2015
Pros: Convenient. Next to Waikiki Beach. Simple, not too posh. Great maid service. Valet parking.
Cons: The lobby feels a bit dated. A bigger pool would be nice.
Location: RIGHT across the street from Waikiki Beach. Need I say more?
We've traveled to Oa'hu twelve times now, so we're pretty savvy about where we stay. We've stayed at almost every Waikiki hotel and resort. Nowadays, we prefer simple but elegant hotels, since we know so much about the island that we plan our own adventures, and forego the resorts and tours. The Aston lobby is a bit dated, compared to the surrounding hotels. The rooms themselves have been renovated to what I'd call "3.5 star" level. Comfy but not posh. If you're going out every day and not staying in your room, then the rooms are plenty comfy. Our room had a king size bed and a sofa sleeper. Since there were four of us we got a roll away bed too. Our balcony faced Waikiki Beach which was awesome. Be sure to ask for one that does. Spectacular Oa'hu sunsets every night! The daily breakfast is simple, and you tend to get tired of it after 2-3 days. We usually go out for eats anyways, which is more of the Hawaii experience. The wifi service is simple and reliable. The pool is clean but a bit smaller than other hotels. There are plenty of lounge chairs Maid service was top notch. Ours was helpful and friendly. We had the same person every day. We got extra towels, extra tissue paper, etc without delays. There is a small store downstairs, but it isn't an ABC store, which as everyone knows IS the standard for Hawaiian convenience stores. Parking was convenient, albeit $27/day with valet service (mandatory). Considering how tough it is to park in Waikiki, we didn't mind the cost.

Ideal location across beach

Posted Aug 27, 2015
Only negative part was being charged $24 a day for routine hotel stuff & paying another $27 for parking. No options... No discounted rate for being guest etc...The parking cost more than the car rental lol

Ocean front room great view

Posted Aug 26, 2015
Ocean front room great view across from beach, rooms are small for a family of 4 suggest a larger room, continental breakfast comes in a bag you do not get to choose. A/C was not efficient to battle humidity. Good resturaunt onsite but pricey. Liked location for most part good hotel for price would stay again.

We went there on our honeymoon and enjoyed it. We had a great view of the sunrise and sunset from our balcony.

COCKROACHES

Posted Aug 26, 2015
Beautiful view, and great staff (especially the vallet staff!) however, during our last night there, we discovered our room had roaches living under and behind our bed!! So disgusting. Will not stay there again for that reason. Our bathroom wasn't very clean either :/

Decent hotel. Great beach access!!!

Posted Aug 26, 2015
There were some problems with the room. For instance, the TV wasn't working correctly and the refrigerator had not been emptied. However, the hotel staff was right on top of things and tried to fix any problem. Also, there was only ONE chair on the balcony. All I all though, the location was terrific. The Aston is almost the last hotel on the strip, so you had all the excitement you could want plus the proximity to free green space. And beach access couldn't be better. Just cross the street and you are there!!!

Hawaii 2015 vacation

Posted Aug 26, 2015
Pros: Although we had a room at the back of the hotel, the view was incredible.
Location: The location was great. Located toward the end of the main road, the hustle and bustle could be left behind, but still close enough to be a short walk
Part of our booking criteria was to get a breakfast included and that is what we expected. For the first few days, there was a full continental breakfast as expected. During the course of our stay this was changed to something a lot more minimalistic and lacking in choice. Whilst we do agree that changes probably did need to occur due to many guests binge style choices and also the atrocious amount of wastage, I believe the new offering was quite inadequate. Chocolate muffins and pastries are not our idea of a healthy choice breakfast and previous offerings of cereal and yogurt should have been maintained. I believe the change in breakfast menu did not give value for money, nor the nutritional start to fuel our days. The hotel was unrelenting in the change and took a hard stance.

It was a very nice view

Posted Aug 25, 2015
Pros: ワイキキビーチが目の前で、部屋も清潔でスタッフも親切なのがいい。
Cons: 3F
