Cleaning only every 3 days, not totally bad, but it can be better for the price

Walking distance to beach. Hotel outdated.

Posted Aug 19, 2015
Pros: Price and walking distance to the beach.
Cons: Staff and room updates.
Location: Lots of shopping, beach rentals, and Diamond Head Crater.
We went to Hawaii for the first time to celebrate our honeymoon. Two women we encountered at the desk, both unfriendly. Older lady was rude and short at check in and also argued with me when I kindly asked for two fresh towels because it was the third day of our stay. We understand it was a cheeper hotel so we did not expect much. But a little friendliness and polite service would have been appreciated. Hotel did not help make our stay enjoyable or memorable. We will not be staying at this hotel in future trips or recommending to our friends.

Great location!

Posted Aug 6, 2015
Our room was spacious and felt comfortable. Best thing was there were no hidden fees, like others we have stayed in in the past. The hotel staff were friendly, helpful and present!! This is our third time to Hawaii and this hotel has been our favorite. The hotel made our trip an enjoyable one and we will definitely be returning and recommending to friends and family.

ビーチ、動物園に近い

Posted Jul 21, 2015

We are glad you enjoyed your stay here. We do apologize for the bug you find during your stay. We do have a professional exterminator come in once a month to service our rooms to minimize any issues like this.

Close to the beach!

Posted Jul 13, 2015
Great location! Lovely rooftop terrace to enjoy a view of Diamond Head. Nice little balcony in room. Convenient to have the fridge, microwave and dishes and glasses and silverware. No stove top, so no cooking which was fine. Would suggest they provide a wine and bottle opener, though. Can opener is provided. A/C worked ok most of the time. Sometimes it seemed to not be cooling too much but it was still ok Problems: hotel doesn't have the word "Castle" on its sign and address on Expedia confirmation info was 134 Kalakaua but address associated with the street view pic of hotel when you click is 147 Kalakaua or something--too confusing Also, when we called for clarification, no one answered. We'd definitely stay here again, just verify their phone # and get their card when you check in so you know how to reach someone

サーフィンするには最適な立地

Posted Jul 11, 2015

Convenient location

Posted Jun 13, 2015
Pros: Location, friendly staff, kitchen facilities.
Cons: The room air conditioner is terribly noisy.
Location: The location is great, right by the park and close to the water and zoo.
This hotel is in an ideal location to enjoy the promenade along the park and the waterfront. Good food nearby, not such a citified location as most hotels there.

Unprofessional. Deceptive. Gross.

Posted Jun 1, 2015 on Hotels
Pictures online were not like hotel at all!! Bed wasn't even a queen. We paid an upgrade cost to have a kitchenette, and although there was a microwave, cooktop, and mini fridge, there was nothing to cook with. No pans, no cooking bowls for microwave, no spatulas or large spoons. The only things provided were 2 dinner plates, 2 forks/spoons/butter knives, 2 cups, and 2 cereal bowls. Not worth the upgrade price! We did buy some cold food (since we didn't have any way to cook) and placed it in the fridge, turned on the ac and went to sleep. Apparently you can not run the ac and the fridge at the same time. We woke to find the ac off and the fridge off, all our food was warm as the breaker had blown. The staff was completely unprofessional! They took my card to pay for parking (which they may or may not have.. About 10 spaces for the entire hotel!) and was holding it to view by multiple other customers while she stopped helping me and instead talked with them, all while showing them my credit card! Never been so disappointed in a hotel!! Don't waste your money! Better to stay down a couple blocks in the park with the band of homeless that live there than waste your money here!!

We apologize for the issues you had during your stay. The room you got should have had all the amenities to cook with and we have since remedied the situation. We do have room with all different types of beds from twins all the way up to kings. If you request a certain type bed we will do our very best to make sure we accommodate your request. We have also since replaced the circuit breaker as it may have been getting weak. Parking spaces are very limited in Waikiki, and while we do have a limited number of spaces we normally do not run out and have enough to accommodate all of our guests. We have also spoken with the front desk clerk about your concerns.

Disappointment in wakikii

Posted May 29, 2015 on Hotels
There was no phone in my room to call down to the desk. Found out this hotel is a condo run by Castle and they only run 30 rooms and have no control if there is or isn't a phone. Room was very small with kitchenette right next to bed. They said city view, the only view was rest of hotel and small pool. Being in Wakikii beach and right across the street from the Zoo was very nice, but they don't tell you it's $17.00 a day to park your car but spaces are limited. While the price was great for the area, I was disappointed in the room as usually I find reviews over 3 by past guests much better accommodations.

Thank you for taking the time to write your review and let us know about any issues we may have. There is a charge for parking at most hotels located in Waikiki. Our pricing for parking is very reasonable compared to some. It is listed on our website when you make the booking as well as in the confirmation letter you receive via email that there is a $17 dollar-a-day parking charge. I apologize that this may have taken you by surprise and hope this doesn't deter you from staying with us in the future.
