Very nice spot right on the beach. The best part is its far enough away from the crowded Wakiki area, so more space on the beach! Great place to relax!

Nice hotel close to the beachPosted Jan 29, 2016
Cons: Maintenance and addressing the hotel locks
Location: Kaimana beach is very nice and steps from the lobby. Waikiki is close and Kapiolani park is across the street. Many things to do in Honolulu.
Hotel location is very good. The room is small but that is fine. We had two issues with the hotel. The first is that the battery of the safe was low and stopped working. Not that big of a deal but it raised a flag. Later that same night, the electronic key was on it's last leg. The manager finally managed to get it to work but it took some time and he told us to wait until the morning for maintenance to get it fixed. This could have been a real problem if we were stuck and needed to go to the airport. Maintenance still did not fix the room by our 10AM checkout. On the positive, the beach is close and the rooms were recently renovated. Hotel staff were pleasant but did not go out of their way to service. This is what happens when you are in a prime location.

Close to Waikiki but Far Enough to Enjoy the QuietPosted Jan 27, 2016
Pros: The staff, the rooms, the quiet
Cons: The pillows
Location: Zoo, aquarium, snorkeling, fishing, Kewalo Basin, Halona Blowhole, Hanauma Bay
We moved to this hotel last minute upon arrival from downtown Waikiki because we wanted a place that was a little more quiet. It was close to the amenities of Waikiki (zoo, aquarium, and walking distance to downtown). The staff was very accommodating, made great recommendations for local food spots, and were just so friendly! The Hau Tree Lanai was a little expensive but the food was great! The beach had a more private feel to it, the water was calm and great for swimming or snorkeling. They had beach towels and mats available and we were able to rent snorkel gear from the concierge desk (which was pretty inexpensive). The corner convenient store staff was very nice as well, and also inexpensive. The rooms were nice/updated and the views were beautiful! We would definitely return again!

Nice hotel, close to beach and diamond headPosted Jan 26, 2016
My husband and I came and stayed for one night on our way to Maui. We had always wanted to check out Waikiki beach and diamond head. This hotel is close to both. We walked down to the beach and restaurant area and had a wonderful evening. The next morning we headed out on our 5 minute drive to hike Diamond head

Pleasant small hotel atmospherePosted Jan 26, 2016
Pros: Nearness to beach
Cons: real cups in the room for coffee
Location: It's about a 10 or 15 minute walk to the shopping area of Waikiki. There is an aquarium and zoo nearby.
The terrace on the beach is divine. We sat under the banyan tree and had cocktails watching the sunset over the unobstructed view of the ocean. The hotel is welcoming and the personnel is genuinely polite and friendly. It is a little worn down but the intimate charm compensates. I recommend opting for a room with ocean view. The rooms on one side are over a parking lot with the sound of air conditioning machinery. We switched rooms upon arrival.
