Resort prices without the resort experience

I stayed here last year with friends and loved it in a 2 bedroom so I booked here with my husband and toddler this time and was really disappointed. With the price you pay, you would expect a little luxury - no pool on site, no room service, no cleaning service daily, a lumpy sofa bed, no crib provided when asked and a broken safe - you even have to call if you want new towels!! The limited staff they do have on in the lobby barely make you feel welcome, if they look up from what they are doing at all. Having to cart our own luggage and a cranky toddler in a pram because there aren't enough staff was just one of the examples of poor service. And then to get picked up or dropped off your transport picks you up in the middle of the street as there's no driveway and limited street parking. THEN, they stick you with a $200 cleaning fee for your stay - on top of the outrageous prices! Next time I'm going to book the hotel down the street offering the same condo style with all the hotel amenities you'd expect on holidays. It seems the Recency uses its outrigger name to demand big prices when it's really not worth it.
