Utilitarian hotel - great jumping-off point though

Posted Jun 25, 2017
Pros: The staff was nice and took good care of us during check-in and out. The cleaning staff did a nice job each day.
Cons: Hallway access doors slam. Light floods the room at night. Pool hours are too limited. Gym needs proper weights. Towels are like sandpaper.
Location: Walking distance (1/4 mi) covers restaurants, pubs, coffee and some shopping centers. A bike can get you everywhere in Oak Creek. Car if going further
This is an average HIE with a nice staff, plenty of parking but with a lot of room for improvement. Unfortunately because the location is popular, it is likely the prices will stay on the upper end of the spectrum without a concurrent improvement in quality. Light floods the room at night -- around door and window curtains -- so bring a sleep mask. And the lights are all fluorescent, which destroys any calming atmosphere in the evening. Rooms next to the hallway access doors get to hear the doors slam due to lack of a proper, soft door closer. The pool is comfortable. Great for a dip, not swimming laps. There are plenty of chairs and a covered area for shade. However, even though a lot of people are up and at it early, the pool does not open until 8am. And it closes at 10pm. Not very accommodating to people who spend the day away from the property because you can't start or end the day with a refreshing swim. Not very happy about that. There were other issues, probably trivial, but overall it's not terrible; the bright room at night and the pool issue were the big things for me that will make me look elsewhere for lodging next time.

Older hotel--Way to expensive for what you get--room very modern, but spacious. Never enough towels for 2 people. Check in personnel were very nice.

Enjoyable one-night stay

Posted Apr 30, 2017
Pros: -Friendly staff (Mike was great with helping us find places to dine) -Renovated rooms - super nice and clean -Very close to everything
Cons: Nothing. Everythign was great!
Location: Bell Rock Pathway is right down the road (10 to 15 minute walk). Great hiking and close to many restaurants.
If you're main purpose in Sedona is to visit parks and do some hiking, this hotel is the place for you. It is literally less than 0.5 mile (10 minute walk) to Bell Rock Pathway. This area of Sedona, known as Oak Creek Village is also more calm, more affordable, and has great dining experience compared to the more touristy West Sedona area. We only spent a day-and-a-half in Sedona so having a luxurious hotel or hotel with great view was not our priority, especially the fact that we were mostly outside. However, if you plan on spending a couple days in Sedona, want to relax, and just kcik back at a hotel with wonderful views, then you want to look at hotels in West Sedona. Please ignore all the reviews from customers that go back roughly a year. This hotel has been completely renovated. There is no more construction or "ugly" rooms. Everything is new, clean, modern, and fully functional. I especially loved the bathroom with the walk-in shower with sliding glass door! Definitely consider this hotel as a place to stay and don't let the older negative reviews intimidate you.

The staff are very accommodating. The place is very clean and the breakfast has a very good variety. The view of the surrounding is spectacular. The recommended restaurants are very good that's walking distance from the hotel.

over night stay

The room is well appointed, clean and updated. However the room was somewhat small, not enough room for 4 people. The breakfast was a pleasant surprise!! Lots of choices to have a great beginning of the day.
