Bathroom wasn't clean and the room decor was old and dated.

Nice Older Hotel

Posted Jun 12, 2018
This was an older hotel with charm. The decor was accurate to the time period the hotel was built which was kind of cool. If your looking for a 5 star you may want to look elsewhere but it is definitely a few steps above a low budget hotel. I would stay there again.

Really cute neighborhood in Oak Park. 2 nice restaurants in hotel. Lots of shops and restaurants nearby. Easy walk to the green line. Spacious hotel room with his and her sinks, and a mini kitchenette including refrigerator and microwave. I would definitely come back to this hotel.

Classic 90 year old hotel with modern amenities. Helpful staff and lovely room

The location of the hotel, and the free parking, contribute to this hotel’s appeal. The access to the hotel and the less than enthusiastic staff make it lukewarm choice. Loading luggage into the hotel is a little tricky because there are stairs from both entrances and the hotel requires that they call a bellman, who are a bit scarce, to use a luggage cart. The staff were ok, but lacked the helpfulness and enthusiasm that are pretty standard these days. The hotel facilities itself are a little dated, but also charming, We would probably stay here again because of its location in Oak Park, within walking distance of the Frank Lloyd Wright buildings, and close to shops and restaurants.

Excellent hotel. Transportation at night from downtown Chicago by train was not recommended to us and the tide in Lyft was expensive.

Cut above Motel Chains

Posted May 17, 2018
Room was old fashioned (Motor Inn) but quaint. Didn’t use restaurant. The property was centrally located in a town vs on s highway. Town of Oak Park has a lot to offer and is walkable.
