Nice !hotel

Pros: It was a convenient location for us. It was very nice to have a hotel shuttle. The breakfast was good.
Cons: Housekeeping did not want to leave any more than two wash clothes, even though there was more than one person in the room. But this was minor.
Location: Very nice restaurant within walking distance
Very nice hotel. We had a bayside view that we really appreciated. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Nice retreat from busy San Francisco - family of 5

We were initially given a room with water view (as requested), however it was a side facing room that also faced the freeway; terribly noisy and unpleasant. We informed reception immediately but we're told we'd got the room requested and that we could try to move the next day. We were staying for 4 nights and were looking forward to enjoying the balcony. We asked again the next morning and were moved through the day. The hotel is lovely, breakfast was great and the room spacious, clean, quiet and very comfortable. It easily accommodated our family of 5. We enjoyed the pool enormously after a busy day sight seeing, it was still pleasantly warm at 7pm, despite it being cool across the bay. Food is a little limited in the immediate vicinity, we ate at Jack London square once and ordered takeaways on two other nights (Chinese and pizza). On our last day at the hotel we took advantage of the free hotel shuttle service to Jack London Square to take the boat across to San Francisco. The perfect way to get to the city, avoiding the heavy traffic and high parking costs. Despite it being early August, we needed jackets whilst in SF; we looked forward to crossing back to sunny, warm Oakland! We did enjoy the balcony and the hotel was the right choice for our family.

Nice hotel, good breakfast, not enough parking

Double queen room was nice and spacious. Breakfast was good. Only problem is they don't have enough parking for everybody so if you come later at night, you'll have to drive around to find space close by.

Staff were too friendly. Information shared with other guests at check in were not shared with us. Majority of the staff always seemed uptight and frustrated about something when asked to help.

Overpriced

Overall it was not too bad. Overpriced for the amenities available. Did not ask for a handicap room but was the only other one available. Pool that they said we could use was actually next door at the Executive Inn.

Jerry. It seems you did not enjoy your stay the best you could have. We are competitively priced for our area. For the same price, we throw in breakfast, wifi, parking and shuttle service. Those who use all of these amenities can easily save $50 to $100 a day compared to some other local hotels. I know it is kind of odd to navigate to our sister property to use the pool, but it truly is a short walk. I believe your mind set was to point out the negatives vs. the very long list of positive attributes our hotel has. Which I understand. It is easier to be critical than enjoy what is at hand. We hope you give us another change. We work very hard to keep our guests happy.

A wonderful stay!

We stayed here for 5 days while visiting our son. We were very pleasantly surprised. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The staff was incredibly helpful. Loved the 24 hour coffee station and breakfast every morning was good. Would absolutely stay there again.

Great stay!

Pros: The area where its located.
Cons: Staff friendliness and willingness to help guests.
Location: There's a starbucks, sandwich cafe and Italian restaurant within a 5 minutes walking distance.
The hotel sits right by Oakland bay. The view is phenomenally appeasing and calm! The room I stayed in was large in space and the furniture was immaculate. The cleaning standards were really good and I enjoyed having a balcony with a view to the bay. There was a free shuttle available to take guests to key areas such as the ferry terminal, Jack London square, the airport etc. free of charge which I thought was great value for money. The drivers were courteous, friendly and very polite. The downfalls were as following: my room was right above the reception so there was lots of noise in the evening and early morning. There was no room service and the breakfast was self-serviced which meant a lot of messiness. The staff at the hotel weren't friendly per se; I personally found them quite abrupt. For example the receptionist tried to argue with me to say I had not asked her to put my name down for the shuttle when I actually had. When I asked at the bar where I could get hot water for my tea (this available 24/7 free of charge) he simply told me to go and look myself. Well I had, otherwise I wouldn't have asked in the first place! Overall staff did not seem to put in a lot of effort in effective communication. Nevertheless, I was pleasantly surprised when they accepted to allow me to check out 2h after the original check out time due to my late flight.

Sometimes there is technical errors that occurs to our shuttle log, we have since then fixed that issue. Regarding the bartender, we hope you understand that bar was a temporary set up as the remodel was taking place in the actual bar area. The bar man, probably didn't know where the hot water spout was either. However, these do not excuse how we communicated. We should always try to find a solution to the problem rather than dismiss it. Thank you again for staying us. :)

Nice hotel between San Francisco and Airport

Very nice, well maintained hotel on Oakland Bay. Nice bay view from rooms. Industrial area so was pleasantly surprised with hotel. Had one day in San Francisco and needed Hotel between SF and airport and this property worked nicely. Limited offering of steak or salmon every night which suited our needs as we didn't want to leave property after full day of sightseeing!
