Since 2010 the walking path and landscaping around the entire lake has been upgraded. It's now very beautiful. During daylight hours it's safe to walk around the entire lake, along with all the families, musicians, runners, and people walking their dogs (and once I saw a duck on a leash being taken for a swim). The gondola is often out at sunset. Chicken and waffles! It really gets a bad reputation. Omg the best burger I've had since Lake Merritt I live in an area filled with glorious, towering, beautiful, enchanting trees. It blesses my Soul to connect with them. They keep my air fresh and clean. They are our majestic guards. This one stands alongside a gully and keeps great company with the many other trees it lives around.
