I would definitely recommend The Durant. We had a very pleasant stay. The staff was friendly and helpful and the hotel was clean, comfortable and FUN.

Great customer service. Paper thin walls. Lots of noise from neighboring rooms.

Interesting, quaint place.

We liked the dated look and feel. Some inconvienences though. Like the small sink area made two people using it at the same time impossible. The climate controll unit with it's bright blue light was positioned such that it was very distracting when trying to sleep. We ended up turning it off the two nights we stayed. Due to the unusually cold weather the room was quite chilly when we woke. Over all this is a nice place, maybe a little over priced, located conviently to Cal and all the attractions that go with the collage atmosphere, plus it's only a 15 minute walk to Bart with it's whole Bay Area access. Uber coverage is good, our longest wait was 5 minutes. This was a pleasant stay.

Close to UC Berkeley Campus

Pros: There were a bunch of small eateries within two blocks. Also, you are within two blocks of the campus.
This is an older hotel that is a bit too pricy for its location. Our room had no closet and very little space to hang clothes. The bathroom door wouldn't lock! There wasn't even a shelf near the basin. The street in front was deserted except for a bunch of homeless people continuously asking for money.

Hotel antiguo bien situado que requiere renovación

Posted Dec 27, 2015
Limpieza no cuidadosa. WiFi gratis.

Close but not the best cigar

We stayed on the night of the Cal USC game. Because we were coming early to go to the game, we were told to call the hotel that morning to reserve a parking pass. We called at least 30 times and let it ring until it finally disconnected and no answer. Also emailed with no reply.

We were seeing a show at the Greek. We will definitely be back when we see another. The hotel is clearly old and in need of a remodel, so it felt a bit overpriced. That said, service and location were top notch. The funky art in the rooms was cool, too. Having a good restaurant/bar right downstairs was optimal for pre- and post- show libations and food.

Nice and simple. The hotel was centrally located and it was easy to walk around town. Simple and clean room
