old place needs updating

Pros: food was good it was clean
Cons: fix broken things like slider in west wing room 130 and shower control on and off diverter handle gone
Location: not safe to venture out in the oakland area
girl at desk gave me a gate pass not validated to go in and out,she also forgot to give me our two breakfast passes a small snack shop inside would help

Decent for an overnight

All was fine until 6AM when the alarm clock went off in the unoccupied room next door. They came up & turned it off, but staff should check these things when going over a room.

Wouldn't reccommend.

Just an average hotel with an uninviting staff. Arrived at 2:45pm and attempted to check-in. I was told that I would not be able to check-in for another 15-20 minutes. I understood that check-in was not until 3pm, so I patiently waited to the side. Not 2 minutes later another guest arrived and a different staff member began checking them in. Once they finished checking in I inquired why we were told to wait. There was no good excuse given. Needless to say the experience was frustrating. Additionally, we were never told about the breakfast that was included in our rate and were never given the vouchers for it. The staff seemed very aloof and not very courteous. As someone who travels for a living and spends the better half of any given month in hotels I was very dissatisfied with the service of this hotel. Definitely not reccommended.

Pros: Comfort, Convenience. The staff took extra small steps that make a BIG difference.
Location: Chain sit down and fast food restaurants. Strip mall with stores and shops, including a store for a cell phone carries. Gas stations
I am not familiar with the Red Lion Brand. I thought that it would be similar to a truck stop hotel and I was afraid but needed a hotel near the airport on a business trip. Boy was I wrong. The hotel was nice my room was clean and looked to be recently renovated the bathroom looked brand new. The hotel staff was friendly and courteous. had an early morning flight and the desk clerk took the extra step of asking if I had gotten my coffee and calling the shuttle driver on his radio to make sure he did not drive off without me. If I return to Oakland I will choose this hotel again. Also close to restaurants and shops.

Hotel close to Oakland airport

Shuttle was available for us at arrival 230am. Room was clean and quiet until housekeeping came barging in at 830. (No do not disturb sign available). Did not include the usual buffet breakfast unless pay $11. This is second best choice, go to Hilton.

i went to the to check-in and they over book

i went to check-in to the hotel and they were over booked and they planned it on my travel site and sent me to an undergrad hotel. Luckily the host at the othet hotel was nice and professional

Nice hotel, close to the airport

Hotel staff very helpful and kind. Be aware hotel policy, deposits are accepted on credit cards. No prepaid cards,no cash. ATM on sight slow and doesn't work well. Call ahead if you have questions about deposits and parking. Otherwise great hotel.

Great breakfast buffet.

We weren't told about the breakfast buffet on the first floor. Apparently there's a voucher for it but not sure when or how you get it. We would have gone the first time we stayed here 8-days earlier.
