This was a lovely property with attentive and hospitable staff. We had not realized that private parking is not available after 10 pm, but were able to easily find street spots.

Liked the hotel. Didn't liked getting ripped off.
Really liked the hotel and staff. Everybody was very nice and helpful. The rooms were clean. We had a problem though of coming back to find a very expensive bottle of mezcal had disappeared. Also, my friend checked out a few hours after I did and wasn't given the deposit back. I inquired as to why and was never answered. I'm planning on many future trips to Oaxaca but it seems unlikely we'll stay here again.

Good afternoon, nice to greet you, we appreciate your valuable comment and at the same time clarify, when the cleaning colleagues came in to check, they did not find any bottle (I mentioned that the staff already have several years of work), what they did forget was a thermos and his companion returned and we had it in safekeeping, regarding his deposit on the day of his departure, which was very early, he told the receptionist that the deposit was left as a tip for the cleaning and reception staff, clarifying that a private message was sent to him through the application chat when you asked about this topic, please if this was a misunderstanding let us know, and provide us with your information for your refund.

Very nice hotel, very close to the tourist areas but not next them so at night you can rest quietly. Wifi is a bit spotty in the rooms but overall very nice and clean hotel with friendly staff.

Dos lunas is an amazing hotel! Amable y muy informativos. Llegamos súper temprano y nos dieron chances de check in temprano. El hotel súper limpio y tiene views muy lindos. Todo lo que uno se imaginaría ver de un hotel rústico y tradicional. Muchas gracias por su hospitalaria. Espero verlos de nuevo en otro tiempo.

Very nice, cozy, clean, nice neighborhood with many restaurants and vegetarian options nearby. 5-10 mins walk to the center. The staff was so nice and friendly. I would definitely stay here again.

The treatment of the staff is terrible, they charge you additional fees if you pay via credit card (even though this is illegal in Mexico) . It is advertised as a hotel with parking but it is not true, and it is charged additionally since it es an external supplier

Carina, I´m very sorry you feel like our staff treated you terribly, this is the first time we have ever had a comment regarding my staff and their attitude towards a guest. In regards to our transaction fee for using a credit card to pay your balance, I know in all of our platforms where we advertise it specifically states that we are a cash-only hotel, and that there might be a fee if paying with a credit/debit card. We also state that public street parking is free of cost but private parking is not and it states exactly how much the cost is. Right where all the above information is written, also states our ´no animals allowed´ policy as well. Also, when you go to reserve our room, it specifically tells you how many adults are allowed in the room, which in your case, for your suite, it was 2 adults, not 3.

I had the worst experience in this Hotel. They charge my credit card twice thinking I was not going to notice during my stay. They said they would refund my credit card but they didn't. At the reception the manager (I think her name was Virginia) recommended that I requested the refund in cash because the owners were not trustworthy. I spoke with the owner and he almost threatened me. I called Expedia but they could n to do anything because I had paid directly at the hotel. I wish Expedia and all travel agencies stop doing business with the fraudulent hotel.

Norma, the accidental double charge was not done on purpose not were we trying to steal money from you, the way you clearly were shouting it to all of our other guests in the hotel, during your stay. It was an accident that could have happened to you anywhere else in the world, in any other chain of Hotels. We apologized over and over again, reasurring you that the issue would be solved within a couple weeks. As neither one of us noticed it had happened until the beginning of the new year. Therefore, we had to wait about 2 weeks for the claim to process. Never was there a comment about the owner´s being ¨untrustworthy¨ or that there was going to be a cash interchange. We respect your opinion on this matter but do not appreciate you calling us a ¨fraudulent hotel¨ Either way, we appreciate your business and wish you a nice day ¨)

Bad hostel with unhelpful people, rooms that flood
Yikes. This was made bad by a few small things and one major one. During our stay, a pipe burst and the room flooded. It soaked our luggage and clothes, which we needed to bring to the airport, so we could not dry them out. Aside from offering additional towels, the hotel staff didn't acknowledge the problem on site and refused to offer any reimbursement towards the amount paid afterwards and instead said that if we returned, they might offer a discount. The hostel was advertised on the Hotels.com website as a hotel called "Casa Dos Lucas," so it was confusing and misleading to arrive at a hostel instead. I booked on mobile, so I had no reason to think it was a hostel and not a hotel until I arrived, I had booked other hotels with the name "Casa" in them in Oaxaca that were in fact hotels. Parts of the room broke, like the lightswitch. Finally, the hostel also has front doors that lock people in and out, so there were a few times, like when we were trying to escape with our soaked luggage, when we couldn't leave until a staff member turned up minutes later. There are MUCH better hotels and hostels in the city, look elsewhere!

Good value for money
Good service, clean room and great view from the rooftop terrace. The hostel is located a few blocks from the city centre. The breakfast is good. At this price, it is probably the best room available.

Beautiful hostel in a great location!
We absolutely loved this hostel! We stayed in a double room with private bathroom and were very happy with it. It is very basic, but has everything you need. Definitely so much nicer than we could have expected for this price. The hostel itself is very cute as well, with a nice rooftop terrace. Breakfast was freshly made every day, but quite deep-fried and wasn't really for us. Location is great! Within minutes you're in the middle of the historical centre.

Great place to stay, skip the breakfast
My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights during our trip through Oaxaca. We were traveling via motorcycle & the owner let us park in the main lobby which was nice and put us at ease so we didn't have to worry about theft. Friendly, bi-lingual employees. The location is great for site seeing, being within 10 minutes walking distance of all the historic landmarks, cafe's and restaurants. At the hostel we got a double room with a shared bathroom. The room was large and clean with free toiletries and one towel each. It had two queen beds, a lot of storage, a small desk with mirror, a fan, and a TV. Everyday we'd come back from adventuring and our bed would be re-made. Wi-fi was pretty decent. My only complaint about the room itself is that the window has a natural gap in it which meant mosquitoes would come into the room and we could hear everyone outside in the courtyard talking/yelling etc... and you only get one set of shampoo/soap regardless of length of stay. The shared bathroom wasn't so bad, but got obnoxious because guests would see that it was a bathroom & everyone would use it. It was meant for us and the room across from us, & so it was frustrating when we'd need to use it and someone from a dorm room would be in there etc.. Breakfast is included each morning, but is hit or miss. First day we got chiloquiles but only chips and sauce and very weak coffee. Day two was good eggs but same bad coffee. We ended up going to nearby cafes. Boulenc around the corner is AMAZING.

This was my second visit to Dos Lunas with a much better room including a TV. But there is hot water only from 7am to 10am anreven during that period they sometime fail to turn it on. Great location! Nice small courtyard. You need to be let in and out of the building by the front desk staff. No visitors are allowed.

I used two rooms over an intermittent two week visit. Hot water only between 7 and 10am, and even in those limits they sometimes fail. You must be let in and out by the staff at all times of the day. Loud partying Mexican youth groups sometimes stay up all night making sleep difficult. The beds are hard. Room #1 does not have a TV. B'fast is pretty good (the beans with avocado leaves are great!) but the fake juice and instant coffee they serve are an offense against humanity. Rooms and towels are not cleaned daily, maybe once every four days at most.

Good guesthouse, good location
A great little guesthouse with both private rooms and dorms. It was really quiet when we were there and worth what we paid for it. Location is quite good. Not bang in the centre of everything, but within 10min walk of all the main attractions. Food was close by. Some 50m away, some 1km. Happy with the location.

private room was perfect
We stayed in the suite, it was great value with a great comfortable bed and private bathroom with ac. It was definitely more like a hotel room. Delicious breakfast included and all the staff were great especially Orlando!!

Hostal for real Travelers
Checking-in, the staff was welcoming and helpful. That´s very important to have a nice and welcoming checking-in by the staff cause that´s a sign of how your going to be taking care of. I rented a private room and it was very clean and simple. As soon as we got our room one of the staff employee gave us bath soup and shampoo, before us asking for it. I liked this hostel, it was very affordable and had a rooftop view to sit or great for pictures. And it has a kitchen for you to use and store your own food. Is this hostel worth staying, "oh yeah!" Hostel 10/10. Price 10/10. Location 7/10

Hostel was ok and in a decent location. The staff double charged us initially (although they later realized their mistake). The breakfast was included, but was just cornflakes. Bathrooms (shared) were ok, but the shower is operated by a pull handle
