I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. It is an easy walk to the center. The staff were absolutely lovely and take great pride in caring for their guests.

Hotel Azucenas is a small family owned hotel. It is beautiful in color and very welcoming. It is also extremely clean. The staff is very friendly and always available to help. It is about a 16 minute walk to El Zocalo and the near by restaurants are delicious! Two of my favorite and a must are Humar and Sicilia Pizza y Pasta. There is also a small "cenaduria" Just across the street. Overall my husband and I loved it and will definitely plan to stay at Hotel Azucenas again. Thank you.

The person at the front desk was helpful and friendly. We left the rooftop area and self-service cold drinks. It's a quaint place. Nothing fancy but very Mexican.

This is a cute property: centrally located and walking distance to restaurants, vendors, zocalo and more. Staff are sweet, honest, kind people that treat you like family. Property and room is very clean. The only set back is that it doesn’t have A/C. Other than that is great! I recommend it

This small hotel is spotlessly clean with a small inner courtyard with a wonderful roof top terrace for breakfast! The staff are so very friendly! The breakfast is delicious! Our room was small but perfect for the two of us. Thank you to Clara, Marisol and Edson!

We enjoyed our stay at Azucenas primarily because the staff were excellent and went above and beyond to ensure we had a comfortable stay. They moved us to a more convenient room without us asking and helped us with an excellent laundry service. The staff provided recommendations for where and how to get around and were always ready to assist. The hotel was warm and accommodating with a lovely rooftop with views across the valley and the city. There was also a lovely kitchenette where we could prepare breakfast overlooking the rooftop. The only slight drawback was that the doors being vented meant that they weren’t soundproof so we were often woken early in the morning by the sounds of the cleaning staff at work in the courtyard and kitchen. Other than that, a really pleasant stay!

Rooftop oasis
We had a great stay at Hotel Azucenas. The staff were very helpful and we loved the rooftop garden and courtyard (with turtles in the fountain!). The room was comfortable and clean.

Wonderful guesthouse in Oaxaca
We both loved our stay here. The staff were so friendly and helpful and the terrace was a fabulous place to sit for breakfast and later just to relax. Nothing was too much trouble for them.The mezcal was delicious. The location excellent.

Great hotel in a quiet spot with friendly staff!
Our stay at Hotel Azucenas was fantastic. The hotel is a lovely traditional Mexican style. The location is great, about a 10 minute walk to the main square, a being a little distance away its much quieter than other hotels. All of the staff (and the resident turtles!) were super friendly, always happy to go above and beyond. I would definitely recommend staying here and would stay there again in s heartbeart.

Wonderful small hotel with excellent service.
The staff is awesome at this hotel and it is small cozy. They were patient with me practicing my Spanish with them. During my stay I got food poisoning and I needed to eat, but all I was craving was fruit and I didn’t have any. The young man at the front desk offered to get me some because I was too exhausted to walk to the market. Clara made sure breakfast was ready everything and even offered me homemade tamales. I would definitely stay with them again. The location is good and right next to the Basilica de Nuestra Señora de la Soledad y La Oaxacaqueña Neveria and 7 blocks from the Zocalo.

The staff makes this place, they did everything possible to make me feel at home. Also the location is perfect, close enough to the zocalo to get there on foot in a few minutes but far enough away to avoid the noise. Once you get your mind around the concept that you are in a third world country and embrace the differences, this will be an unforgettable experience

The staff was very warm and helpful. Great location, about a 10 minute walk to the Zocalo. Optional breakfast on the terrace was very reasonable and pleasant. Rooms are basic, no TV or AC. Some ground floor rooms don't have a window or skylight.

Thanks a lot for your reviw, about your comments we appreccite a lot, about the rooms we usually offer options of rooms by emails and if we have chance during the check in we try to offer rooms according the taste of the guest when is hight season sometimes we cant do these because guest who arrive first take the best rooms or people who know the hotel ask in advance the specific rooms, so sorry in case we didnt remember to offer you rooms options in your arrival, in Expedia you cant choose your favorite room.and in case you would like to come back and visit us again ask for your best option.

The Azucena is a really sweet hotel with a wonderful 2nd story garden patio that looks out over Oaxaca and the beautiful mountains surrounding it. The staff were incredibly nice and helpful and our room was clean and taken care of each day. We loved our stay there!

Hotel Azucenas is a small, friendly lodging. Lively during the day and quiet at night. Comfortable walking distance to museums, many mercados, artisanal craft shops, dining and the historic Zocalo. I enjoyed the personable staff and clean facility. Will stay again.

Stay was amazing! Front desk and staff went above and beyond to meet all needs, even offered bug spray when we were going to sit out in the rooftop patio. Rooms are simple. No TVs or AC, but they provide free wifi and fans. Close enough to walk to restaurants, bars and Zocalo. Area was safe and quiet. Would absolutely stay here again!
