Lovely setting close to everything! Little gem!Posted Aug 4, 2015
Pros: The attentive service from the staff and the lovely setting.
Cons: Maybe umbrellas outside the rooms on the third floor. We had a problem with the shower, water pour on to the floor out the tub..
Location: Great location! close to everything. There is a small German restaurant across the Cathedral, it's ran by a very nice young couple. Try the Rueben YUM
Just what we expected.. very comfortable and friendly hotel. A wonderful experience all around. Loved the bed, so luxurious and comfortable. Highly recommend anyone to stay there. We loved it so much we will go back next year to finish what we started. The staff was very nice and helpful and made our stay very comfortable. Thank you.

DownTown OaxacaPosted Jun 29, 2015

Christina was cheerful + helpful, we felt at homePosted Apr 29, 2015
Pros: Hospitality, the staff are extremely helpful and kind
Cons: The continental Breakfast could have better variety
Location: Excellent, walking distance to the historical and touristic center
The hotel is centrally located, the architecture matches with the mystic of the place, you are in a palace and are treated as royalty. That makes you oversee, the noise from the side walk and the mattress that could be updated.

Wouldn't repeat a stay herePosted Apr 22, 2015
Pros: Location, friendliness of food service staff and receptionist Faustino.
Cons: Management attitude. Rooms are too dark.
Location: Very close to the central part of Oaxaca. Lots of churches, restaurants, and bars within crawling distance.
We had a horrible experience at check-in. We came in very late at night and we thought we had booked a suite via Expedia. But when we arrived, the hotel receptionist (Faustino) told us that our room is actually a tiny standard room. This is not what we pre-paid for and it was very clear from Expedia's reservation system that this was for a suite. I called Expedia from there and Expedia tried to talk to the receptionist who did try very hard to convince his own manager (Luis?) via phone that they should upgrade us. But the manager was unrelenting. I had Expedia's supervisors call again and then the manager asked the receptionist to call the director of the hotel to get permission. Expedia did the right thing but I spent a total of an hour trying to get this resolved before being able to get the suite. I don't know exactly where the fault lies but if the reservation says "suite," the hotel should give us the suite. The standard room looked clean but it was quite tiny (more European-style). The suite was larger and had a decent sitting area. But I was disappointed by the lack of any windows facing outwards. So, despite the presence of a small skylight in both the bedroom and bathroom, the room was dark-ish. The breakfast was OK (continental for free with more stuff that you can order). The service of the staff was friendly and courteous. The location was great. But I wouldn't stay here again primarily based on my experience at check-in.

Perfection!Posted Apr 22, 2015
Pros: The architecture, the room size and furnishings were so beautiful! The food was wonderful and the staff made it extra special for us.
Location: It was located in the perfect part of the town. Perfectly located within walking distance to the best food, music, churches and museums.
My husband, who is an artist, and I travel to Mexico several times a year, and this was the first time in Oaxaca. The city, the food, the culture was so beautiful, and especially the people. The best part of our travels was Palacio Borghese! We miss Cristina, Luis and Jose Luis, and also the General Manager. Everyone at the hotel became like family. The hotel is the most beautiful in Oaxaca. The food was the best and our room was so beautiful and comfortable. Our room was located right off the street, and that did not matter, because they put beautiful wooden doors that you can close at night to make it absolutely quite. The service was the best!! We were given a tour of the hotel, and every room was as beautiful as the next. The sweet girls that cleaned the rooms were so nice and always made us feel so comfortable in the room, with the way they cleaned. We cannot say enough great things about Palacio, because the entire hotel staff made us feel very, very special!! We did not want to leave, after staying for seven days. We will someday return to Oaxaca, and the only place we will stay is at the Borghese. If we forgot anyone's name, please forgive us, because we fell in love with everyone at the hotel. Also, we do not rate many places that we stay, but this one was extra special!

Excelente Ubicación y AtenciónPosted Apr 12, 2015
Pros: El servicio.
Definitivamente volveríamos a hospedarnos ahí. Felicidades por el extraordinario servicio!!!
