This property is dated and in dire need of repairs and upgrades. They have no real amenities and charge as much as hotels that do. Housekeeping is by request only! We only stayed here because virtually every other hotel was already booked was booked . I recommend a pass on this one.

I like the Rooms Sizes however I was on the 4th floor and the elevator was not working and the stairway door was not working. They left it open 24/7 which means anybody can come into the stairway. It wasn't safe at all. I requested to move to a lower room, and they did not make any commendation for the issue.

Clean and spacious room. The only staff member we dealt with was when we checked in. That person seemed very indifferent and uninterested. I understand the job is, likely, monotonous, but, at least, try to fake it better like the rest of us. The property needs a serious makeover. The elevator was broken. Hopefully, that will be repaired soon. It made the walk to the 4th floor, with luggage, difficult. We have stayed here before and enjoyed it. We would stay here again despite the aforementioned issues.

When we got there Saturday afternoon they only had one person to check in so they had a line waiting we did not have no housekeeping service the whole time we was there I called front desk to come have them mop my floor they said they will send someone no one never came I had to walk down to front that Saturday morning to get clean linen housekeeping was terrible

It was nice room. Was supposed to get a discount at checkout because we had to climb 4 stories not good…I just had back procedure. No discount given, manager never called back…promised she would call with the discount to be given. Disappointing and not happy.

The elevator was out of order when I arrived and the whole of my overnight stay. My room was on the 4th floor! Not to trilled with the situation to say the least. I have stayed at this property in the past but I'm sure as with everything, it has declined terribly

An older building that’s showing its age. Table and mini fridge tipped and rocked. Evidence of water damage. However, room was huge, beds comfortable, pillows plentiful and excellent, shower hot and with amazing pressure, and a balcony with ocean view.

Tidelands charged a resort fee of 12.50 a night. Thought trip was paid for until they hit me with this unexpected charge…not happy. Room had ants. Lost hot water in middle of shower. Couldn’t get a hand towel.

Mold and Mild Dew!
The hotel was under construction on the floor that they put me on. I was not told that before finishing my payment at che k in That is already a safety issue what makes things worse, i get to my room to see and smell mold and mild dew. The mold and mild dew spores were all over the wall, bedding, curtains. The smell was really strong. There was a store bought air purifier in the room which means that management was/ is aware of the situation. I was not told anything before my final payment!

Booked an ocean view room. Picture showed full view of ocean on the website. Room given was partial view. When asked the front desk person he said I could upgrade for an additional fee. I showed him my reservation that showed I booked an ocean view. He indicated that their ocean view was really a partial view. He stated it really is deceptive. I called the 866 number who restated that the ocean view is really a partial view. The other thing is that when I booked through Expedia not only did I pay an additional $30.00 over their regular room rate, but also had to pay an additional resort fee upon check-in.

Location on 5th St was best feature. The hotel itself is showing its age and the end of the season malaise didn’t help: the refrigerator’s freezer was in bad need of defrosting, the safe did not work, outlets were few and inconveniently placed (no usb ports), paint on tiny balcony floor peeled, and railing rusty. Maid service non-existent even when requested, and, finally, the ridiculous no smoking even on the balcony rule frustrates a cigar smoker on VACATION.

Facility is dated but clean. Freezer needed defrosting and balcony lights could not be controlled (on/off) within the room. Bed was excellent and bathroom and shower were clean but needed cosmetic repair. A good place to stay for the price considering the event in OC

This property is a great size and setup for a visiting family. The location is perfect and it is an easy walk to the beach. However, the property is quite dirty. It does say that they are in the midst of renovations which was not advertised when we booked. However, there were fruit flies all over our room. When we asked for a room change we were told that this is a problem in the area- but the air conditioning vents were covered in dust/dirt, the bathroom had a dirty tub and the kitchenette had a tepid fridge and broken cabinetry. Pretty disappointing considering we were planning on dining in to save some money as we had splurged on the room for the location. Honestly, it will be great after a renovation and a deep, deep clean.

The location and size of room were great! The condition, however, was pretty bad. Upon arrival, there were fruit flies swarming our room. We immediately told the front desk and they said they would send maintenance but no one ever came. Our room was directly across from the trash room which was left with bags of trash in it during the entire three days. For what we paid, I expect, at the bare minimum, a clean room without bugs.

We had a suite overlooking the pool. Filthy. Curtain rod was falling off the ceiling and unsafe (it was "rigged" by staff first evening with instructions not to pull hard or it would fall off) black mold on the ceiling and floor edges. Refrigerator froze all our food with no knob to adjust. Signs near the elevator read "maid service only available if you request before your stay, that was helpful info. Avoid this property.

This must be a photoshop of what a decent hotel room SHOULD look like. In comparison to the gnat/fruit fly shot home of a room that we stayed in which they refused to take out our trash in all 3 days we were there and they opened the floor they were doing construction on and decided to put us in a room covered in saw dust. I’m pretty sure this place would not pass so many health codes and violations. The customer service was the absolute worst and blare my rude! We were told they would not take out our trash and not provide us clean towels. Be warned this place needs to be condemned!!!

Hotel is very dated and dirty. The hotel has signs posted that "quiet hours" are 10 pm - 8 am, but this obviously doesn't apply if your room is anywhere near the pool bar where they play music very loudly from 10 am - 1:30 am.

I paid $600 per night and it was disgusting. There were hundreds of ants crawling around the floor, under the bed and couch. There was mold in the bathroom and and kitchen area. The door and walls had thick black scuff marks and dirt. It smelled like urine, smoke and throw up.

Don’t stay here!
I would not recommend this place to anyone. It was not clean, see attached pictures. We spent over $700 for two nights and this place was disgusting. The a.c unit was self standing, the sliding glass door wouldn’t lock because of the rigged up piece for the a.c. Unit. The mattress and sheets were stained. My husband and I went and purchased our own bedding, towels and pillows because we were so grossed out. The toilet also ran all day and night.

Nice place to stay
This was just an overnight stay, but would stay here again especially if staying longer. Nice view from room, very spacious room, it was a Double King efficiency, so had dorm sized fridge, microwave, and cooktop as well as plates and utensils. Good value for the money. Exceptionally friendly staff.
