"GREAT RESORT! Grateful for the pet friendly especially. Breakfast included was wonderful. Clean, quiet, propane tables outside with a partial glassed in area (for wind protection lit at night, wonderful grass area, great paved walking path thru the dunes to the beach. Gucci & Grandma had an AMAZING TIME! Great stay "

"This was our second stay while checking out possible properties for a relocation. We came back because we had such a great first experience a few weeks ago. Check in is easy, whether it’s during the open office hours or after hours. Staff are super friendly. Parking is easy and the location is an easy walk to a lovely beach and to lots of terrific shops and cafes/restaurants. The only ding on a perfect score is that although the place was immaculate during our first stay, there were two dark, wiry hairs at the base of the shower floor this time and, well, ick factor. I’d return and recommend, as I think this was a fluke."

"We booked a king room and due to its location we requested to move to a queen (only room available). The front desk has not encountered this request prior though was very accommodating and responded with no complaints. We moved rooms and had a great stay. Breakfast was good and staff was friendly. "

"Just a quick get away for 3 days to the beach. The inn was very convenient and reasonably priced. Really enjoyed the large recliners for relaxing in the evening."

"First Mates Cottage is a very roomy very clean house, nice and close to good clamming beach area's and our favorite store 'Jack's Country Store'. If you are coming to clam, they have 8 clam guns, altho they aren't the best. They have games for kids. A very big yard and hot tub. Be sure to bring your own presto logs as they only supply two and they are very expensive to purchase on the coast. We were allowed an early check in which was great, fee charged but fine with us. No late check out as they had contractor's coming but again worked out fine as we needed to be on the beach by (am for the clam tide. Can't go wrong with First Mate's, I just wish they had better signage at the entrance to the driveway, and both ways. We missed it every time coming from the beach because the speed limit is 50, so people are right up on you as you are slowly trying to find your turn."
