Dreadful facility. In desperate need of renovation

Pros: One thing I liked is that the hotel is right on the beach.Security at entrance
Cons: Too numerous to write about. Professionalism. Upgrading of the showers and rooms, WI-FI in rooms. Clear up the dining area at nights after dinner.
Location: Location is not bad. No attraction in the immediate surroundings.
I was disappointed with the poor quality of property maintenance including rooms. Disputes between management and employees were not dealt with privately but openly with guests around. Food quality was okay. Friendly staff although it was obvious they were working under stressful conditions. I didn't object to the numerous cats in and out of the restaurants and onsite as they kept the lizards away from me, normally this is unacceptable to me, but I accepted just because I'm so afraid of lizards. I hated the fact that WI-FI was not available in rooms. The afternoon tea was a joke, definitely not what I expected.

Location! Relax! MOTEL

pros: location is unreal it's ON THE BEACH. The staff is unbelievably accommodating and polite. The food is really really good. Buffet, limited but delish. They will go out of their way to cook whatever you want. The rooms were very comfortable and clean with breathtaking view. This is a place to relax in quiet, no crowds, no cookie cutter huge resort. Very authentic. It's very old with beautiful mahogany wood floors. It was a grand place at one time. No night life! Cons: check in issues with safe, resolved. Front desk check in person not very friendly. The bar was really bad. Very limited choice of drinks and even when I asked for specific mixers (vodka, orange juice and peach schnapps LoL) they were unable to accommodate. The drink was white! No graoefruit juice, cranberry juice..nothing to mix. You could have a pina colada or strawberry daiquiri or an awful rum pumch. House wines no good. No bourbon, whiskey or scotch. The hotel has no shops as a resort typically does. You cannot purchase lotion, snacks..NOTHING because there is NOTHING offered. Most of this old resort is closed. Needs cleaning. No frills but the best staff ever, and a prime location.

very good place to get away and relax the food was was not bad they removed all the meal for lunch and there was not to eat.the staff was very friendly and helpful

Very disappointed in the upkeep of the building, poor customer service, zero entertainment, employee being able to take her granddaughter to work, which growing company does that?

Small intimate hotel - some will love it!

We had been recommended this hotel by friends who were regular visitors around 30 years ago - we thought it would appeal to us too, being a small and intimate non 'resort' hotel, and we booked with realistic expectations having read the very mixed reviews this hotel receives. We actually really enjoyed our short stay, especially the lovely quiet location right on beach, although we were unlucky with rough weather which made the sea cloudy and not very appealing for swimming during our 2 day visit. On check-in we had quite a few issues with the first room we were given, (Fawlty Towers sprang to mind!) but we were able to move to another which was ok. Clean, comfortable bed and hot shower. All the staff were very pleasant and the food was very good on the whole (especially the jerk chicken lunch time BBQ (special thanks to chef Henry Boswell!) - not exactly 'elegant fine dining' in the evenings as the website claims but a comfortably casual, friendly ambiance on the terrace. There seemed to be no more than 20 guests staying while we were there and everyone looked happy. It must be said that the hotel is badly in need of some major improvements, especially the inside reception areas - a makeover of the upstairs bar and shop (unused as far as we could see) and a new stair carpet from the beach level to the lobby would be a good start!

Like going home

My 7th stay at Shaw Park! It's like going home where everybody knows your name. If you would like to stay in your room and watch TV this is not the hotel for you. Quiet Resort close Beach good food wonderful people. See you next year!

Small friendly hotel

If you want to get away and enjoy some quality time with your thoughts then Shaw hotel is the place for you. They offer great one on one assistance and always making sure your safe. I went to Shaw hotel alone and they made sure food, tours and drinks we always ready for me. The staff kamal, smiley and the hotel manager (forgot his name) always made sure I was safe, entertained, and full. I'm so grateful for taking time to get to know me and keeping an eye out. However, the hotel does need a little make over nothing big but maintenance should be keeping up with the hotel needs. I would go back because in a big 5 star hotel you will never get the one on one service as in Shaw hotel. Much love !

Peaceful, relaxing and nice Hotel

It was great. Staff was very professional and every though we are locals we were treated with the same enthusiasm. Although the water was a bit dirty due to the inclement weather we had a blast... Oh and how can I not mention the live steel pan music Saturday night....very good...i really enjoyed the music...
